The If-You-Were Poems If I were a dancer,

I'd dance with such grace.

If you were a shining star If I were a runner,
And I were your midnight, I'd win every race!
I’d let you shine above me,
You’d be my only light. If I were an actress,
I'd take part in a play,
If you were a scoop of ice cream For I can do anything,
And I were an ice cream cone, No matter what you say.
I’d put you on my shoulders
And hold you for my own. If you were a May full moon,
And I were a star in the sky,
If you were a grand piano I'd twinkle and sparkle beside you,
And I were a sweet love song, So your beauty was magnified.
I’d let your keys tickle and tease
My melody all day long. If you were a deep black hole,
And I were the milky way,
If you were the pages of my book I'd twirl and swirl towards you,
And I were reading you, Until you'd invite me to stay.
I’d read as slow as I could go
So I never would get through. If you were a flaming comet,
And I were the deep blue sky,
The If-I-Were Poems I'd wrap my night around you,
And sing you a lullaby.
If I were a bumblebee
And you were a buttercup, If you were a Gregory K. poem,
I’d buzz around until I found And I were a word in a rhyme,
Your bright face looking up. I'd squirm and worm to be noticed,
Until you used me all of the time.
If I were the summer rain
And you were a new rainbow, If you were a poet called Pincus
I’d try to find the warm sunshine And I were your friend, Father Goose,
So you would never go. I'd write a new prompt full of rollick and romp
In the spirit of dear Dr. Seuss.
If I were the autumn wind
And you were a maple tree, If you were a hot dog,
I’d lift your leaves with a gentle breeze And I were a bun,
And hold them close to me. I'd be all around you,
Warming you like the sun.
If I were the first snowfall
And you were an evergreen, If you were a picture,
I’d wrap you in my winter coat And i were you frame,
And make you my Snow Queen! I'll hold and protect you,
'cuz were one and the same!
If I Were...
If you were the pencil
If I were a queen, and I were the answer,
I'd rule a mighty land. we'd find each other
If I were a princess, like the dance finds the dancer.
I'd take a prince's hand.
If you were the wonder
If I were a soldier, and I were the thought,
I'd fight a mighty war. we'd play hooky in springtime
If I were a hero, and never get caught!
I'd be the best they ever saw.
If you were the butterfly If i were the rain falling down
and I were the net, And if you were walking through me
I'd watch without catching i'd take care to not be heavy
and have no regrets. so that when you are walking you see

If I Were/ If You Were - Poem by Ember Stardust If you were the moon
And if I were in a plight
If you were the thief I'd howl to you every night
And I was the heart For you will be my only light
Then i'd let you steal me
Till death do we part. If you were a musician
And if I were your guitar
If you were Still you I'd let you strum me
And I was a star Until you can strum no more
Then i'd fall for just you
Wherever you are. If you were my owner
And if i were your pet
If I was immortal I'd love you till the end of time
And you were the sea And run to you faster than a jet
Then i'd drown in you
Forever in peice. If you were a storm
And if I were rain
If I were blind I'd fight falling
And if you were my eyes For i couldn't stand the pain
I'd trust you with my life
For only you would hear my cries If you were a flower
And if I were a bee
If I were an apple I'd come back to you every day
And if you were the mouth And collect anything you'll give me
I'd let you eat me
As I traveled south If you were my mom
And if I were your kitten
If I were your phone I'd never leave your side
And if you were playing on me For I am so smitten
I'd love the feel of your fingers
As you set me free if you were my boss
and if i were your employee
If I were your jacet i'd do everything i was told
And if you were cold anything to make you happy
I'd wrap my arms around you
Without having to be told If you were hair
And if I were the head you sat on
If I were a puzzle piece I'd brush and care for you
And if you were my match Like nothing else mattered
We'd come together
And get latched

If I were a sign
And if you were passing by
I'd light up my colors
So beautiful I'll make you cry

If I were a water cup

And if you were having dry lips
I'd relish the feel
As you took a few sips
