Language change is the phenomenon by which permanent alterations are made in the
features and the use of a language over time. All natural languages change,
and language change affects all areas of language use. Types of language
change include sound changes, lexical changes, semantic changes, and
syntactic changes.

is the study of the mental aspects of language and speech. It is primarily concerned with
the ways in which language is represented and processed in the brain.

5. Sociolinguistic

Sociolinguistics study relationship between language and society. They are interested in
explaining why we speak differently in different social context, and they are concerned
with identifying the social funcions of language and the ways it is used to convey social
meaning.
