RUMAH BETON by PARISAULI ARSITEK STUDIO
Security aspects were the starting point of the design process of
this project. Being located in a high-density area in Jakarta,
security and privacy of the user became the main requirements.
It translated into a seemingly enclosed facade design yet not
entirely massive with the use of wooden lattice.

The lattice was designed to enable the user to see from inside
the house to the outside, while blocking the view from the
outside to the inside and disguising room functions in the
house so that the user’s privacy is maintained.

The house’s spatial planning was also made in regard of

security. When most houses orientated outward, Rumah Beton
was designed with inward orientation. Enclosed facade was
directing the orientation inward and the building’s mass was
separated into several sections. The building mass division was
made in correlation to the zoning, hence still have a well-
planned space inside the house despite the mass being divided.

The play of mass could give an interesting spatial experience

and a dynamic feel to the building’s interior. The presence of
dry gardens placed in between the masses and the voids made
the user feel the outdoors but with the convenience of the
indoors.

The wooden lattice on the facade, the segregated masses and

the dry gardens, provided good circulation and natural lighting
in the house. Combination of massive and transparent tile for
the roofing material maximized the access of the sunlight
during the day.

Area: 220 m²

It is a medium size house project designed for a small young family.

Located in a dense neighborhood of Bandung city, Indonesia. The design
approach was to create a simple popular looking house with triangular
shape facade.

And also to accommodate the client need for space. Every interior
element offers the complexity of designs and details, contrast with a
relatively plain and minimalistic front facade.

The layout also highlighted the maximum infusion of

natural light through windows and featured
skylights. Clients were delighted with its spacious feel,
especially on the main living-dining area.

AREA : 406 m²

Located in a dense & dry neighborhood of Bandung city, Indonesia, SH House is

designed by ruangrona in order to maximize air circulation, indoor micro
climate and natural lighting which provide coziness

The clients are delighted with some private inner court / open area which
create different visual & space experiences in every room

The house masses are separated intended to make the house not too bulky and
maximize air circulation. The bridge on the 2nd floor, connecting the children's
room and the master bedroom is one of the interesting parts of this house

Exposed concrete and iron elements that tend to be cold is balanced by the
inner court / open area and wooden materials so that the house becomes more
homey and warm

Finished in 2017, one of the pilot projects by the architects to
design typical twin house with a slightly different function.
The first house (on the corner) is intended for residents of
small family, meanwhile the next house are for mixed
function such as boarding house and small offices.

Taking the inspiration from the simplicity of Japanese

architecture, while incorporating the user needs and
requirement for safety.

Therefore the main design focus on simple combination of

white paint, light woods and metals. The exterior is intended
to show ‘massive and open’ effect, while taking same outline
of triangular shape for the façade

As for the tropical climate challenges, maximum air

circulation and lighting are provided from every side of the
buildings, while maintaining the privacy and safety from the
surrounding by adding metal fins and ventilation blocks as
façade accessories

At the main house, large void is provided to express the

spacious feel, at the same time are flexible to utilized for
variety of occasions.

The design of J House considers the tropical climate in Indonesia and the use of
natural ventilation. J House adapts the modern style of tropical architecture. The
design of J House has an open window with a modern lattice and cross-ventilation
effect

J House located in a dense residential area. This location has the potential to make J
House has a role as an architectural model that beautifies the region. Spatial and
circulation J House is designed to be more efficient in function, natural air circulation
and natural light. J House building colors give priority to natural and neutral colors
that can show the colors and characteristics of the base material.
J House has two main facades facing the street area on the north and
south sides of the building. J House building site has a unique land-
form. The shape of the contour is flat and is located close to the coast.
The challenges experienced in this design process are related to the
shape of the site that forms the letter T and will have two buildings.
The tread side facing north is smaller than the tread side facing south.
The architect must design the two facades to keep them full of the
same character.

The architect uses a modern concept of architecture with an eco-

friendly approach to have good air circulation and natural light. This
concept can be seen from the many pages and windows with large
openings to optimize good air circulation and natural light. J House is
designed so that residents can reduce the use of air conditioning and
lights. The architect optimizes the use of natural elements, both inside
and outside the building, so that it can integrate architectural and
interior design.
