Part III. Reflection (VE021 – A65)
1. Are your knowledge, strengths, skills and interests aligned with the program you are currently taking? If YES, explain how. If NO, write what you are
planning to do about it?

My strengths are somehow aligned with the program I am currently taking because our professor said that if one wants to be an architect, he or she
must be mature enough and I believe that once I accepted that I have a lot of flaws to work with, I can be mature and open-minded. However, my
skills and interests aren’t aligned with the program I’m taking. I do not plan to abandon my skills and interests, but I plan to learn new skills and find
something new that are aligned with architecture.

Updated:
From first two years of architecture, I have also developed interests with designs that catch my attention. I find myself watching house tours from all
over the world as it gives me inspiration on what I can do for my own design. Thus, my interests have become more aligned with the program that I
am taking.

2. What are the possible barriers in achieving your personal goals?

Being a perfectionist and a procrastinator, as well as lacking self-confidence are the possible barriers that can hinder me from reaching my goals.

I have still been a procrastinator during the past years, thus creating the risk of losing the scholarship. However, this third year, I am currently trying to
do things ahead of time.

3. How do you think will you be able to overcome these barriers?

I must learn on how to manage my time very well and also to give love and appreciation to myself more for all the hard work that I have done.
Moreover, I must surround myself with positive people that are willing to help and support me no matter what.

Currently, I am utilizing a calendar app to keep track of my objectives for the day.

4. What specific MCL core values do you think would help realize your set goals? Explain your answer.
Excellence and Discipline are the two specific MCL core values that come into my mind when I was setting my goals. I thought that if I wanted to be
successful, I must excel on the field I want to be successful in. Thus, I must challenge myself to be better until I reach the best version of myself. On
the other hand, discipline will train me well to be this better person that I’m aiming for. I must learn how to do things right and do right things as well.

Updated: Rather than striving for excellence, I have come up to a decision to do my best in the given time span then polish when there is still some
time remaining. And so, I choose Discipline and Urgency to be the core values that helped me realize the goals that I have set sooner.

Explain why:
I was not completely dissatisfied by my performance as I lost my ETY scholarship on the last term of my first year. I really felt bad and blamed
myself as I wish I could have done better.
3. Referring to your answer in #1, what do you think are the factors that allow you to achieve more/less than or the same as your target goals?

The first factor was distractions. Due to several distractions, I was unable to pull myself together and be productive. Instead of working on my
plates, I kept on doing things for fun.

4. Based on what you have realized from the activity, what are you planning to do next?

Thinking that the pandemic has been my turning point, I am planning to do all of my plates on time and to focus own work. I am also trying
not be carried away by my peers and to utilize apps that can help me to be productive.
5. In what ways do you think can MCL better help students achieve their set goals?

In my opinion, I think MCL can promote apps that can be useful in maintaining and increasing productivity.
