FOREWORD

Gratitude for the presence of God Almighty because with the grace, and knowledge and
guidance of being able to complete the Critical Book Report with the book "MODREN
QUANTUM MECHANICS “ To the task of Introduction to Introductory Courses
Introduction to Natural Science And also I thank to Sabani S.Pd, M.Si as lecturer who
has given this assignment to the author. The author hopes that this critical book can be
useful for readers to see the contents of the book and its advantages and disadvantages
before buying it. The author is also very aware that in the Critical Book there are flaws
and words that are far from perfect. Therefore I expect criticism, suggestions and plans
for improvement of critical books that the author has made in the future, considering
that nothing is perfect without constructive suggestions.Thank you.

CHAPTER I

PRELIMINARY

1.1 BACKGROUND
Book Review Report is a report that aims to determine the contents of the book, but
more focus on our evaluation (explanation, interpretation, and analysis) of the
advantages and weaknesses of the book, what is interesting about the book and how the
contents of the book can influence our way of thinking and adding our understanding of
the book So that the book review report is a process done to seek the advantages and
disadvantages of the book. Material that will be criticized about learning models.
Humans to socialize with anyone in society and anywhere and knowledge, because
socializing has a separate way to be able to adapt to the community to gain peace, while
science is the right way to achieve calm. It is expected that with the review of this book
review, students can add an understanding of this material and be able to think morely
critically and systematically, so that in the future students as prospective teachers can
apply this material in the field or after becoming a teacher.
1.2 BENEFIT OF CBR
The benefits of making this CBR task are:

1. Knowing the definition of Coloumb law, charge and current.

2. Knowing an explanation of Formula of coloumbs law.
3. Know the Coloumbs law.

1.3  AIMS OF CBR

The Critical Book objectives to find out the advantages and disadvantages of book
content, test the quality of the book by comparing the work of the same author or other
writers. Then the benefits of fulfilling the task of teaching learning strategies and to
increase knowledge about how to criticize a book.

CHAPTER II
SUMMARY

COULOMB’S LAW, CHARGE, AND CURRENT

Two divergent systems of units established themselves over the course of the twentieth
century. One system, known as SI (from the French le Système international d’unités), is
rooted in the laboratory. It gained favor in the engineering community and forms the
basis for most undergraduate curricula. The other system, called Gaussian, is
aesthetically cleaner and is much favored in the theoretical physics community. We use
Gaussian units in this book, as do most graduate-level physics texts. The SI system is also
known as MKSA (for meter, kilogram, second, ampere),and the Gaussian is called CGS
(for centimeter, gram, second) units. For problems in mechanics, the difference is trivial,
amounting only to some powers of Difficulty arises, however, when incorporating
electromagnetism, where charge, for example, actually has different dimensions for the
two sets of units. This appendix attempts to contrast the two systems of units with
respect to electromagnetism. Some formulas are given that should make it easy for the
reader to follow the discussions in this and other graduate-level books.

1 COULOMB’S LAW, CHARGE, AND CURRENT

Coulomb’s law is the empirical observation that two charges Q1 and Q2 attract or repel
each other with a force FQ that is proportional to the product of the charges and
inversely proportional to the square of the distance r between them. It is most natural
to write this as

This is in fact the starting point for defining Gaussian units. The units of charge are
called statcoulombs, and the force between two charges of one statcoulomb each
separated by one centimeter is one dyne.It is easy to see why such a delightfully simple
formulation caught on in the physics community. Unfortunately, though, it is difficult to
realize experimentally. It is much easier to set up a current source in the laboratory—
perhaps with a battery driving a circuit with an adjustable resistance. Furthermore,
magnetic forces between long wires are straightforward to measure. Therefore, the SI
system is borne out of the definition of the ampere.

One ampere is that steady current which, when present in each of two long parallel
conductors, separated by a distance d of one meter, resultsin a force per meter of length
FI /L between them numerically equal to 2×10−7 N/m.

The simple force formula for the SI system, analogous to Coulomb’s law for the Gaussian
system, is
for currents I1 and I2 (measured in amperes) in each of two wires. Although (A. 1)
doesn’t carry a popularized name, it is as fundamental to the SI system of units as
Coulomb’s law (A.1.1) is to the Gaussian system. Based on the definition of the ampere,
we must have

μ0 ≡ 4π ×10−7 N/A2

Factors of 4π frequently appear in formulations of electromagnetism because one is

always bound to integrate over the unit sphere. It is a matter of taste—and now

convention—whether to take them out in the beginning or carry them around through
the calculation. If one defines a unit of charge called the coulomb as the charge passing
through a wire carrying a current of one ampere during a time of one second, then
Coulomb’s law becomes

With this definition of the proportionality constant, one eventually shows that the speed
of electromagnetic waves in free space is

In our current standard units, the speed of light c is a defined quantity. Hence, ε0 is also

defined to be an exact value.A relation like (A.1.5) is of course no surprise. Electric and
magnetic fields are related to each other through Lorentz transformations, so the
proportionality constants ε0 and μ0 should be related through c. In Gaussian units,
there are no analogues of ε0 or μ0, but c appears explicitly instead.

CHAPTER III
DISCUSSION

Topic

In the main book defines The coulomb law is a rule that describes the relationship
between the power of electricity and the large of each charge. Which, this law would
explain the relationship between the force that arose between the two points of cargo,
which separated ata certain distance from the value of the payload and the distance of
the two.

In the comparis book difines the coloumb law is Coulomb's law describes the force of
attraction or the denial of two electric charges. As it said: "the great opposing force or
attractive attraction between two charged objects is proportional to the size of each
charge and inverse to the square of distances.

So basically both books have the same definition and concept of coloumb law.

3.1Book excellence

Book contents

The book in coloumb material explains both the definition and the concept of the
coloumb law and the book uses a language so simple that it is easy to understand, and it
hasa formula on the coloumb law that students better understand.
Book cover

The book's display is also good enough to pick bright colors to appeal to the reader
when he sees only what he looks like.

Book language

The main book's language setting is both simple and effective and thus is better
understood.

3.2Book weakness

While there is an excellent presentation of formulas but no confusion about the formula
symbols, it will surely make it difficult for students to understand it.

There are no examples of problems in which there should be a variety of issues that will
make students understand better but in this book there is nothing

CHAPTER IV
CLOSING

4.1CONCLUSION

Based on the above discussion then we can draw the conclusion that the Crital Book is
an activity to criticize the book to know the weakness and deficiencies in the book, both
in the systematic writing, the use of language, content material and book display. This is
done so that the book in criticism can be revised to become a better book. Mechanics
quantum of the topic coloumbs law, charge and current is already has a system of basic
usage, and the depth of materials suitable for taught. It is obtained after having a
comparison with the Isosal Sociology Book of Islam. Nevertheless the book also has
some weaknesses that make this book be imperfect.

4.2SUGGESTION

Realizing that the author is still far from the perfect word as well as the lack of sources
owned by the author, the author will always accept the criticism and suggestions that
build to make this critical book better. For suggestions can contain criticism or
suggestion to writing can also be able to respond to the conclusion of the critical book of
the book that has been described.
