Project Summary
Project Termoelectrica de Warnes
Customer ENDE Andina S.A.M.
Application Simple-cycle
Technology Five SGT-800 units with DLE technology plus Auxiliaries and
balance of plant
Start One SGT-800 online since February 2015.
Complete Four additional SGT-800 units under construction/commissioning
to be completed mid 2015.
Challenge In Bolivia the demand for electricity is growing due to domestic
development and to supply planned industrial park. Additional
expansions options for future development in the region has to be
considered.
Solution After a successful project “Termoelectrica del Sur” the customer
decided to further develop the electricity supply with flexible and
high efficient SGT-800 units in open cycle configuration. The
option of further extension of the power plant by adding
additional units and the option to extend to combined cycle
configuration ensures the upgradability required for future
development.
Benefits The SGT-800 provide highest efficiencies for open cycle
operations with the option to further increase output power and
efficiency by combined cycle extension. Benefits to one of
Bolivia’s most vibrant economic zones.
3. New SGT Power Plant centralized 4. New SGT Power Plants decentralized
Utilization of existing Maximum operational flexibility
distribution grids optimized for local demand in grid
Highest availability Directly embedded into Smart Grid
High operational flexibility CAPEX can be spread over time
Short installation time
High availability
