Do you think the Ice Bucket Challenge would have had the same success if the
management at ALSA initiated the challenge?

The ice bucket challenge was an activity involving, dumping a bucket of ice water over a
person’s head. It was initiated by Chris Kennedy who is a professional golfer whose brother-in-
law has ALS. Pete Frates who is a former Boston College baseball player and his friend Pat
Quinn who has ALS also did the challenge. This challenge became worldwide and attracted
many participants. If the management of ALSA initiated this challenge I think it wouldn’t have
the same success. People who first did the challenge are famous persons that has the disease or
has a family member with it. When someone famous starts something on social media, everyone
seems to fallow what they did. I believe that people took part in the challenge to show sympathy
towards the people who has the disease. It was a great idea to have the professional golfer to
initiate it as well as other famous people, like Bill Gates and the president Barak Obama because
it was a great success
