Diana María Gil Garzón:
The city where I live is Bogota, although maybe all of you have already been here, surely
there are many places that still don't know.

Bogota is located in the center of the country, in the eastern mountain range; it's
characterized by having a moderately cold climate, although the temperature varies
according to the months of the year, from December to march its high, contrary to April
and October where it's lowest.

The hill of Monserrate is one of the most visited tourist places, is a mountain of 3000
meters high know both for the wide range of outdoor activities that allows its multiple tree-
lined paths and for the beautiful panoramic views that can be obtained, from its top place of
religious pilgrimage since the time of the colony and constitutes a natural religious and
gastronomic attraction of the city, can be ascended to the pedestrian path, by cable car or
funicular.
The Tequendama waterfall is a natural waterfall that is formed by the waters of the Bogota
river, the landscape is impressive.
The botanical garden of Bogota is the largest in Colombia, is located in the town of
Engativa, is a place of investigation, education and leisure research of the capital.
Other interesting tourist sites are the Candelaria, the primate cathedral, Jaime Duque Park,
museum of children, museum of gold, national museum, among others.

You can get to Bogota by autobus from

anywhere in the country, you can use the train
from savannah if you are in that area and if you
are in a more distant city you can travel by
plane to El Dorado airport. Inside the city you
can mobilize in transmilenio.

The birthday of the city is celebrated on august 6 of each year.

Between March and April, the Iberoamerican theater festival is celebrated. Bogota's book
fair in mid-April in corferias is one of the most important literary events in America. In
rock to the park, the parks of Bogota receive national and international rock groups.

The festival of summer salsa to the park, the festival of cinema, expoartesanias are some of
the events that are celebrated in the city.
In Bogota you can enjoy its delicious cousine, being the ajiaco the most representative dish.

I would like very much to visit Israel; I am very impressed by its historical places, since
they have a great religious sense and are also very beautiful. To get there, I would take a
flight from Bogota's Dorado airport to New York City. Once there, I would take a direct
flight to the Ben Gurion airport in Israel. The tourist places that I would like to know are
the Dead Sea, the Wailing Wall, the Yad Vashem Museum,Tel Aviv and of course,
Jerusalem city.

Diana Carolina Acevedo Mouawd:

I know what you have been told about the Middle East, we have political unrest, terrorism
and travel advisories; that’s true, but theirs is another reality when it comes to tourism we
have beautiful mountain ranges, untouched beauty, warm waters and some of the oldest
history in the world makes the Middle East a perfect place to visit.

From temples to tombs, from The Dead Sea to lush mountain tops to the tallest structure in
the world; these Middle Eastern destinations have something for everyone to enjoy.

Lets talk about my city Israel,

Israel has a mild climate all year round meaning there really isn’t a time to avoid visiting
Israel.

The summer months are, however, generally very hot, with average temperatures over 30
degrees celsius, whilst the winter months can be unpredictable with storms often lasting a
few days at a time. Having said this, the winter months can also see some very pleasant
spring-like weather.
The best months for travelling to Israel are, in my opinion, May and October as the weather
is most temperate and comfortable, although there are really no no-go months.

Most tourists arrive in Israel by plane. Israel’s main airport is Ben Gurion Airport and
airlines fly here from around the world. From the USA and Canada, direct flights come
from New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Toronto, although many travelers
opt to travel via Europe as this can not only work out cheaper, but breaks up the length of
the journey.

From Europe, there are flights from most major cities, and increasingly, fares are being
offered by low-cost airlines.

So you know when you’re in Israel, but how you get around, dictates where you stay and
what you’ll do. Some travelers decide to base themselves somewhere, and then take day
trips or overnight trips, whilst others opt to tour around, staying a few nights in a number of
places.
The easiest way to get around in Israel is by joiningday tours or arranging a tour package.
Private tours or VIP tours are also options for those with higher budgets. If you prefer, most
major international car hire firms having branches here, it is a cost effective and easy way
to travel around. If you are unable to drive, then the Israelitrainnetwork is very comfortable,
although not too extensive, although the bus network is very extensive, covering most of
the country. A word of warning though, public transport is very limited between sundown
on Friday and Saturday night due to the Sabbath.

Knowing how you will get around will now allow you to plan how you wish to split up
your trip to Israel. It really does depend on how much time you have, as to how long to
spend somewhere. In 2 weeks, I would suggest that you spend 5 nights in Jerusalem, 2 at
theDead Sea, 3 in TelAviv, and 4 in theGalilee region. Eilat takes the best part of a day to
travel to from most of the country, and therefore in 2 weeks, there isn’t really time to get
here, unless you really want to!
There will probably be some places you’ve known you want to go to for some time. There
will also be places such as the Western Wall and YadVashemMuseum that most tourists to
Israel take time to visit. There will then be places that you haven’t even heard of yet, that
you’ll want go to! The best thing to do is to look with an open mind in the area you are
staying for things which appeal to you rather than to look for certain types of attraction.
There are some seriously unique places to go in Israel, and its so easy to overlook them!
You’ve arrived, so enjoy it. Relax and stay safe. Remember that we are really hospitable
people, and will be more than willing to help you if you have any questions. Have a great
time!!!

I live in Bogota at this time, the way I arrived… Well I had to take a plane on the airport to
Lax airport in LA, then I took a plane to Bogota.
Even when I have been living here for a few years already I didn’t have the opportunity to
go visit Monserrate or Rock al Parque yet, seems very interesting places.

My City is Bogotá
Hello tutor and friends, what I’ve seen and read is that we live in the same city. Althoug my

Jaime Duque Park is a very beatiful place

to visit and enjoy. It is very closet o
Bogotá, by bus could be around an hour to
get there. This place shows different things
about Colombia culture, their food,
tradition, battles and history. This is a
special place to go with family or friends.
After seeing this beatiful park you can stop
by a dessert place called “La Cabaña de
Alpina” It is a beautiful place close to
Bogotá to stop and buy desserts and eat it
around the green areas that this place has
build.
It is very difficult to get bored in this city because there are many fun things you can do
with the family, friends and visitors from all over the world. Come and enjoy the Capital of
Colombia with the diversity things you can do around Bogotá. The transportation it is not
difficult to do because there are different ways you can go around the city; by bus,
trasmilenio transportation, taxi, by bicycle among other different transportation. Bogotá is a
