Gas Turbine Replacement of Defective Combustion
Inspection Chamber Tiles
Introduction
The procedures described in this document are
recommended for replacing combustion chamber tiles.
Should it become apparent during removal and refitting that
tile holders or the flame cylinder are defective and no
Siemens field personnel are present during the inspection
or major inspection, contact the Siemens hot-line (cf. 3.0-
0050) to request direct assistance in the form of personnel,
expert consultancy or further information.
Major repairs to the flame cylinder tile lining shall only
be performed by Siemens specialist personnel, because
only these trained employees have the depth of detailed
expertise required to accurately analyze such damage.
Tools required for fitting these tiles (Design Group
01443) are available from Siemens for rental or purchase.

produce a dull sound must be scrapped because they
contain cracks or other flaws.
If the new tile passes the "sound check", place it
against the flame cylinder shell such that the distances
between adjacent tiles and bores between them is uniform.
Place tile holders 2 and 4 against the tiles they are to hold
