POEM WRITNG ON CURRICULUM DESIGN

1. INSTRUCTIONS: Create a poem that encapsulates the concepts of curriculum design. The
poem should have 5 stanzas, each stanza contains 4 lines with rhythmic ends. See the rubric in
the next page as your guide on how your output will be graded.

" Role of Curriculum Design"

In every institution curriculum design is very important

Planning, organizing and applying must be brilliant.

Educational goals must be evident and constant

So students in the end will be knowledgeable and unreluctant.

Curriculum design deepen and supports students learning

It shall likewise promote creative and critical thinking.

Different skills as well as attitudes are on the stage of cultivating

In a way that students' pathway are progressively working.

Designing a curriculum must be purposeful and intentional

To produce a relevant and skillful professional.

Core and curricular must be achieve by an individual

As well as strategies and principles are self essentials.


Subject-centered, learner-centered and problem-centered must be put on the way

This would serve as basis in fostering a well-designed curriculum particularly.

Subject matter should be somehow systematic and in line anyway

To avoid conflict and disconnectivity in teaching and educating along the way.

Curriculum design embraces academic discipline

For effective and flexible learning to happen.

Teachers and students are engaging for a quality education to be gain

And for its desire and success to be achieve and attain.

1. In the 21" century, Philippines educational system's currículum design has shifted to

learner-centered and problem-centered, why is it so?

Educational system in the Phippines has been shifted to its new curriculum design to ensure the
holistic educational approach of the 21st century learners would be meet. This is widely involve
in learner-centered and problem-centered which basically trains students on real life scenarios.
Introducing this new curriculum definitely enhances students ability to face and respond on
current issues needed to be faced. The new design prepare students to be more competitive
and skillful not just in our country but globally they can make contact. Here, the students do
actively participate during the class depending on the teachers given task or activity and the
teachers would only do is to facilitate learning and ensure to have a continous progress on their
chosen field. Learners are being introduce into enhanced, context-based and spiral progression
learning curriculum and exercised mostly in performaced-based activities. Our government
especially in the sector of education set this new curriculum design to develop lifelong learners
equip with both knowledge and skills that serve as the foundation to create a brighter future
for everyone.

2. There are two major forces considered in designing a curriculum: horizontal organization and
vertical organization, which between the two, do you think, will give more beneficial results to
the learners or students in basic education and why?

Considering this both curriculum design, I would probably choose the vertical organization that
would give more beneficial results to the learners, its because the continuity and sequence of
the learnings right from the start of schooling will be considered. Throught the education of the
learners, vertical type of curriculum ensures that in a given subject, each grade-level curriculum
adequately covers the necessary topics, skills, standards and learning outcomes to meet
student needs and success will be awaited throughout their school career and journey. In this
way also teachers are sure that what they give to the students will give progress on their
learnings especially that they had already assess students performance from the previous years
of study. Meanwhile, both students and teachers are on the same track wherein the alignment
of the curriculum and plan are there so students knowledge about any specific subject and
topics are on the same path. And so this helps learners less difficulities in dealing academic field
and performances because they are already engage from the previous level so merely the
results would be more on beneficial to the students as well as to the teachers who monitored
and organized subject matter for the students.

3. Why is the sequencing of curriculum content significant in teaching-learning process?

Sequencing of the curriculum content is very sinificant in teaching-learning process since this
would serve for the students as well as to the teachers in building a relationship towards the
content and its relevant to the goals they wanted to achieve. If there is a sequence in the
curriculum, it means the clarity and objectives are well planned and organized so as on how to
achieve it based on the process that are already set on. Most probably this gives students a
clearer path to take and their understanding on a particular subject will have improvement
based on what is necessarily needed and what is lacking of. In this way teacher can monitor the
students progress during learning since they have basis on the content being delivered by them
during discussions of the lessons or during an asessment, they would definitely identify if the
learners capacity of understanding in each lessons given are enough or required to have more
explanations to take. And merely this how sequencing works for both students and teachers to
ensure that both of this two variables are on the same track to avoid conflict during the
teaching-learning process as well as the objectives will be attain at the end of each chapters.
