PREFACE

TO. Historical review

A.1. INACAL's Metrology Directorate has taken as a precedent the

international standard IEC 62053-22: 2003 Electricity metering equipment (ac) - Particular
requirements - Part 22: Static meters for active energy (classes 0,2 S and
0.5 S), making technical adjustments to it, obtaining the Peruvian Metrological Standard NMP 022:
2016 ELECTRIC ENERGY MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT (ca). Particular Requirements - Part
22: Static active energy meters (classes 0.2 S and 0.5 S).

A.2. This Peruvian Metrological Standard is an adoption of the standard

IEC 62053-22: 2003. This Peruvian Metrological Standard shows some editorial changes referring mainly
to the terminology used in the Spanish language and has been structured according to the Peruvian
Guidelines GP 001: 1995 and GP 002: 1995.

INTRODUCTION

This standard should be used with the following relevant parts of the IEC 62052, IEC 62053 and IEC 62059
series of Standards. Electrical energy measurement equipment:

NMP 014: 2012 Electrical energy measurement equipment (ac). General requirements, tests and
(EQV. IEC 62052- test conditions. Part 11: Measurement equipment. 11: 2003)

IEC 62053-11: 2003 Electrical energy measurement equipment (AC). Particular requirements. Part 11:
Electromechanical active energy meters (classes 0.5, 1 and 2). It supersedes the particular
requirements of IEC 60521: 1998 (2 to edition).

NMP 015: 2012 Electrical energy measurement equipment (ac). Particular requirements. Part 21:
(EQV. IEC 62053- Static active energy meters (classes 1 and 2). 21: 2003)
It supersedes the particular requirements of IEC 61036: 2000 (2 to edition).

IEC 62053-23: 2002 Electrical energy measurement equipment (AC). Particular requirements. Part 23: Static
reactive energy meters (classes 2 and 3).
It supersedes the particular requirements of IEC 61268: 1995 (1 to edition).

IEC 62053-31: 1998 Electrical energy measurement equipment (AC). Particular requirements. Part 31: Pulse
output devices for electromechanical and electronic meters (two-wire only).

IEC 62053-61: 1998 Electrical energy measurement equipment (AC). Particular requirements. Part 61: Power consumption
and voltage requirements.

IEC 62059-11: 2002 Electrical energy measurement equipment (AC). Reliability. Part 11: General concepts.

IEC 62059-21: 2002 Electrical energy measurement equipment (AC). Reliability. Part 21: Gathering reliability
data from meters in the field.

This part is a standard relating to model testing of electric power meters. Understand the particular
requirements for meters for indoor use. It does not deal with special applications (such as
measurement elements and / or displays in separate enclosures).

This standard distinguishes between meters:

- 0.2 S and 0.5 S accuracy class index; of protection
- classes I and II;
- for use in networks equipped with or without earth fault neutralizers.

ELECTRIC ENERGY MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT (ca). Particular

Requirements - Part 22: Static active energy meters (0.2 S and 0.5 S
classes)

one. OBJECT AND FIELD OF APPLICATION

This Peruvian Metrological Standard applies only to new static active energy meters, with an accuracy class 0.2 S
and 0.5 S, intended for the measurement of active electrical energy for alternating current in 50 Hz or 60 Hz
networks and your model tests.

It applies only to static active energy meters connected to transformers for indoor use, consisting of a
measuring element and an indicator element (s) included, all of them, in the meter housing. It also applies to
the operation indicator (s) and the control output (s). If the meter has a measuring element for various types of
energy (multiple energy meters), or when it incorporates other functional elements, such as maximum
demand indicators, electronic tariff registers, time switches, remote control receivers, communication
interfaces of data, etc., the specific rules for these items also apply.

NOTE: the IEC 60044-1 Standard describes transformers with a measuring field extending from
0.01 I n to 1.2 I n or 0.05 I n to 1.5 I n or 0.05 I n to 2 I n as well as transformers where the measurement field of the
0.01 I n to 1.2 I n for accuracy classes 0.2 S and 0.5 S. As the measuring fields of a meter must be adapted to its associated transformers and only
0.2 S and 0.5 S class transformers have the required accuracy
To operate with meters of this standard, the measuring range of the meter shall be 0.01 I n to 1.2 I n.

NOTE: in Peru the electricity supply networks are alternating current systems with a nominal frequency of 60 Hz, in accordance with the National
Electricity Code.

It does not apply to:

- active energy meters in which the voltage between connection terminals exceeds 600 V (voltage between
phases, in the case of polyphase meters);
- portable and outdoor meters;
- communication interfaces with the indicator element of the meter; reference
- meters.
