COURSE GUIDE

Course Description
“Group singing is cheaper than therapy, healthier than drinking, and certainly more
fun than working out. It is the one thing in life where feeling better is pretty much
guaranteed.”
- Stacy Horn

For this semester, given the situation we are in, you will learn how to use technology, to
help you collaborate with each other and continue to make choral music. Through
regular submissions of individual recordings and recordings in smaller groups, you will
learn how to listen for specific qualities of your voices and ensemble singing in order to
improve your performances. The repertoire will consist mainly of short works of
different genres.

Course Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, you should be able to show improvement on your
individual skills, i.e. pitch accuracy, rhythmic precision. You should also be able to
improve on your team skills, learning more to think less of yourself for the benefit of the
group, creating beautiful music as a team.
