COURSE GUIDE
Course Description
“Group singing is cheaper than therapy, healthier than drinking, and certainly more
fun than working out. It is the one thing in life where feeling better is pretty much
guaranteed.”

For this semester, given the situation we are in, you will learn how to use technology, to
help you collaborate with each other and continue to make choral music. Through
regular submissions of individual recordings and recordings in smaller groups, you will
learn how to listen for specific qualities of your voices and ensemble singing in order to
improve your performances. The repertoire will consist mainly of short works of
different genres.
Mode of Delivery
Synchronous sessions, once a week (Tuesdays, 11:30-12:30) via Zoom.
Meeting ID: 993 9607 4086
Passcode: 1ARfKAk@
Course Requirements
You will have several graded recording submissions throughout the semester. These will
cover individual, sectionals, smaller ensembles, and full class recordings. These
requirements are meant for you to engage with your classmates and with me throughout
the course. Deadlines will be strictly observed.
House Rules
This is a relatively big class, one of the biggest every semester. I do promise to keep the
class enjoyable despite the circumstances. Nevertheless, I will be needing your
cooperation. I am sure that, with regard to technological advancement, I will learn much
from you. We are at a very uncertain time and we need each other to continue on in our
journey as learners. So let’s be compassionate to one another. Let’s help each other
whenever possible. Be mindful of your own time and be respectful of your classmates’.
Submit requirements on time following the guidelines we set.
Our official means of communication will be through email. You can also send me
