The Gascoyne Gateway Multi-User Marine Facility
will comprise of a land backed rock causeway and
pylon wharf structure to meet an optimised water
depth. Some dredging of the berth pocket, and
manoeuvring basin will be required and all of this
dredging material will be utilised in the construction
of the causeway.

Importantly, the planned site of the facility is

adjacent to a Zoned Industrial Area and Shire.

renewables area will provide solar power for the
facility and the production of our water. A fuel tank
facility is also planned so the direct importation of
necessary diesel and aviation fuels can be made.

The key feature of this is that it no longer is just minimising

impacts on the local and global environment but can
demonstrate the repair and regeneration of past impacts…
The Gascoyne Gateway can demonstrate these regenerative
qualities on energy, water, waste and biodiversity.
It can also enable social and economic regeneration
and thus is making an Australian-first holistic
approach to Regenerative Development.

The Gascoyne Gateway Multi-Use Marine Facility will spotlight Western Australia’s leading regenerative
approach to environmental interaction, by utilising existing and potential technologies in marine
facility design, construction and, operation from around the world.

Acknowledging the pristine nature of Australia’s coastline and the fragility of its environment means
we are committed to ensuring we are designing environmental protections to deliver positive
outcomes.

Importantly, the ability to reduce impact during construction and then during the long term operation
of the facility is vital. Using PIANC guidelines for Working with Nature (WwN) we are able to ensure
enhancement of the biodiversity within the facility. By also ensuring the provision of the necessary
regulatory oversight and control of marine operations within the Gulf is a major step to reducing
risk to the environment and its fauna. Ultimately, we are working towards the local production and
utilisation of Green Hydrogen as we move from fossil fuels to the future of renewable energy.
