1. What is a Web search Engine?


Ans: A Web search engine is an interactive tool to help people to locate
information available in the World Wide Web. The Web Search Engine
runs the user’s Search Query against a database and returns a list of
resources that match the Search Query.

2. What are the parts of a web search engine? What do they do?
Ans: Interface, Search box, Search Query and Search button are parts of
the web search engine. The Interface has the Search box. In the Search
box, the user types the Search Query and this Search Query typed by the
user is submitted by using the Search button.

3. What is downloading?
Ans: Downloading is to find something from the internet that you want
to save in your computer.
4. Write the steps to save an entire webpage?
Ans: To save a webpage
1. Select File ---Save As option
2. Select the destination folder where you want to save the page.
3. Click ‘Save’ button
4. The page will be saved without any graphics or animation.

5. List three most commonly used website suffixes

6. Write the full form of the following

7. Write the steps to save an image from the webpage


Ans: 1. Right click on the image
2. Select ‘Save pictures as’ option from the menu.
3. A dialog box appears. In that select destination folder where you
want to save the image.
4. A name for the image will be displayed. If you want change the
file name.
5. Click ‘Save ‘ button.
6. The image will be stored in the destination folder.

8. Write the steps to save a portion of a webpage


Ans: 1. Highlight the portion in the webpage
2. Right click and select ‘Copy’ or press ‘Ctrl+c’
3. Open the Word processor
4. Right click and select ‘Paste’ or press ‘Ctrl+V’
