This movie is about a guy Michael from a poor neighborhood. He was
separated from his mother when he was very young due to her being a
drug addict.
Thus, begins this story of a guy who is adopted by a wealthy family,
and they help him fulfill a dream that he did not know.
We must always understand that we do not all have the same
opportunities, no one chooses their life, we are simply what we want,
some fight for what they want and others simply have it in front of
them.
Development
Life is very variable, everyone has their destiny, some believe they
know it and others simply ignore it. This movie is more than a movie, it
is a story that leaves you with a set of lessons. Mike was a simple boy
from a marginalized neighborhood and becomes the best offensive
tackle in American football.
Technically it all starts on a cold night when Mike had entered his new
private school and had nowhere to spend the night, fortunately the
Tuohy family found him walking on the street and offered him asylum,
he accepted and went to the house of the family.
The family is very friendly despite the fact that they belonged to
another social level, Mrs. Leigh tries to get Mike to tell her about his
life, he just keeps quiet.
Finally, the family adopts him and supports him to be a soccer player.
The truth is that all this was possible thanks to the simplicity and
humility of Mrs. Leigh
If it hadn't been for her that she only cares about helping Mike without
expecting anything in return, none of this would have happened.
This shows that life gives you opportunities you just have to know
when to take them, perhaps if Mike had not stayed that night none of
this would be true.
Now I understand the importance of support and the value of family.
I believe and affirm that, if we were all people with values, respect,
humility, we would reach our goals and we would avoid obstacles
without problem, like Mike who, despite everything, always protected
his family.
This beautiful adventure by a guy who broke stereotypes ends
wonderfully.
Mike is signed into one of the best universities and becomes the best
defender in American football.
Personal opinion
It seems extraordinary to me that there are always people who, beyond
the common good, care about helping other people simply because it
is the right thing to do.
I am concerned that we are becoming ambitious people, I believe that
little by little people with moral values are diminishing, I invite you to
understand the value of life. My mother has always said that “every day
you have to try to be better people and always help to our neighbor”,
since we never know how we will end, life takes many turns one day
we can be at the top and the next day we can wake up collapsed or
simply not wake up ...
Conclusion:
What this beautiful film leaves me with is that you have to put aside the
stereotypes and do the right thing to try to always give our best.
There will always be different points of view, we all have different
thoughts, it could be that some probably talked about this film in
relation to American educational institutions, but I believe that the most
important thing apart from education is to be willing to change since the
changes are for the brave the cowards prefer to stay where they are,
even if they are not happy.
What else can I say? I am speechless, I feel very happy, I hope and
this writing is not a simple school work if not, that it helps and
convinces people to fulfill their dreams.
As my teacher Brenda once said, we can all do what we want. Dreams
can become reality, but not by themselves, we have to do of our part
and often sacrifice what is most precious.
