INTRODUCTION

Within the topics will be developed an understanding of technology and technological

contracts.

A part of technological surveillance that is key to business success, being the identification of

registered patents. This process was carried out using the WEB application. PATENTSCOPE,

the quality is a basis used for patents and sharing information in general to the public.

A diagram is made in which one of these patents will be exposed through a keyword.

Through the forum, different types of technological contracts were disclosed, applied in

negotiation methods.

A video is made to upload to the YouTube platform where the importance and contribution of

technology in evaluation and negotiation is exposed.

Each student must make a mental map, describing an appropriate search methodology, based

on reading and taking into account the proposals presented, each group must choose a

research methodology, following the description of the proposed diagram.

Activities to develop

Individual :

The students must develop the following activities:

1. Read the following references for Unit 3 at the Knowledge Environment:

 Dolan, J. P. (2017). How to Overcome the Top Ten Negotiating Tactics. 

 World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) & International Trade Centre (ITC),
(2010). Exchanging Value – Negotiating Technology Licenses, A Training

post its selection in the Collaborative Learning forum:

4. Performing technological surveillance is one of the key activities to success in


technology negotiations, part of it is identifying patents that have been registered,
allowing engineers to understand what has been done and what are real opportunities
to innovate.

- According to the computer program described by each student in the video presented
in the Step 2 - Create value from technologic innovation, chosen from the survey
carried out in step 1, the following activities must be developed:

a) Visit the Practice Learning Environment, Educational resources and read the Guide for the

use of educational resources – PATENTSCOPE.

b) Choose à key Word related to the use given to the computer program chosen in the

previous step (Examples: Accounting, Sales, Stocks management, CRM, Customer service)

C) Develop a search in PATENTSCOPE database using the key word selected before,

identifying the patent that you find the most interesting.

d) Consolidate the findings in the following PATENTSCOPE Search Diagram:

5. Record and post in YouTube a 2 - 3 minutes video where the student appears himself

explaining in English his conclusions related to the course including:

• Student name

• Group number

• Date

• The importance of understanding valuation and negotiation of technology to

contribute to solve the problem of digital transformation in Colombia

- I am studying Industrial Engineering at CEAD YOPAL CASANARE.

- The importance of understanding the valuation and negotiation of technology to contribute

to solving the problem of digital transformation in Colombia.

It is a new selling method and can be used to help people create their own content for sale in

digital technology marketing as a marketplace, whereby organizations change their culture

and structure to execute their process more efficiently using technological tools.

The main axis of the digital transformation is the routine change and the reorganization of the

teams within the companies for the risks to the current demands, having a direct and effective

communication with the clients.

For these reasons, companies starting the digital transformation are up to 26% more

profitable than their competition and reach up to 12% more in market value, according to

research data.

6. In order to continue developing the diagnosis to understand the situation in

Colombian enterprises of digital transformation, it is important to write a methodology for the

research.
