1-the central theme is the world cup,

2-the objective is to explain to someone with some English vocabulary words.

3-To talk about the world cup in English we start from its sporting popularity worldwide,

4-describing the development of this great activity, the 2018 world cup is one month long,

5-but to enter it, a classification is required, that is, a previous game that defines the teams

to play in the tournament,

6-there are a total of 32 participating teams, but as the tournament progresses by

development logic, the participants are reduced,

7-only 16 teams make it to the round of 16,

8-only until the semifinals is it possible to determine between four candidates for the world

champion

9-objective of the players is to win by the greatest number of goals

10-not all games end with obvious wins or draws

11-there are cases in which yellow cards are decisive for a team to advance

12- some expressions and keywords used to explain the world cup are observed

13- In the first part we can know that FIFA refers to the World Cup as a tournament that

takes place every four years.

14- One of the keywords is competition if you want to understand the tournament,

depending on each language it can have a different meaning.


15- In English you can translate to a contest and there are team players fighting to be the

best at something.

16- The tournament has a specific duration of one month because of this, a qualifying phase

is created beforehand.

17- In total, there are 32 teams that go to qualifying in the first round, in the second 16 and

in the third 8.

18- The quarterfinals and semifinals are important, but it is the final round that determines

the winner.

19- Kicking the ball towards the goal and entering the net means that a goal was scored.

20- The world cup is the tournament with the most followers in the world more than the

Olympic games.
