 1.0 INTRODUCTION

Our objective is aimed at supporting schools rugby in by organising a 15’s Rugby Tournament
amongst the best rugby playing schools in Malaysia. This plan has been designed to ensure
rugby increases its status and to continuously grow at the schools level.

This is principally due to our observation that there isn’t any schools 15’s tournament that is
being organised outside of the bi-‐annual MSSM tournament. All rugby tournaments that
are currently being organised is for the 7’s and 10’s variant of the game. Though laudable, this
does not bode well for the development of rugby according to the 15’s format, which is the
truest form of rugby.

Being a schools tournament with no revenues being generated, the organisation of the
tournament looks to funding from corporate and commercial sponsors for support. This
Sponsorship Package has been designed to give businesses the opportunity for cost effective
promotion and marketing of their business. Rugby is one of the nation’s fastest growing sports
and is an important part of its lifestyle so why not use it to increase your brand awareness.
 2.0 TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The tournament will be conducted over two stages, a round robin qualifying stage to establish
the ranking of the 6 teams, and a playoff stage where the teams will play for the Cup, Plate and
Bowl.

Over the qualifying round the teams will play each other ones, accumulating points for standing
in the tournament table. Upon completion of all the fixtures, the teams will proceed to the
playoff stage where schools placed 1st and 2nd will play for the Cup, 3rd and 4th placing will
play for the Plate and the 5th and 6th team will play for the Bowl.
 3.0 SCHEDULING AND VENUE

The qualifying stages will be held throughout the months of March and April and will be
conducted in the grounds of the hosting school. As such, the games played in diverse locations
including Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Hulu Yam, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Seremban.

All 3 games of the playoff stage will be played over an afternoon at a stadium venue in Klang
Valley culminating in the Piala Yahaya Ahmad final.

4.0 PARTICIPATION

Participation is by invitation based on a review of the best performing rugby schools currently.
All schools have confirmed their participation, namely:

I. Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Ipoh

II. Sekolah Menengah Sains Selangor, Kuala Lumpur

III. Sekolah Alam Shah, Putrajaya

IV. Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor, Hulu Yam

V. Sekolah Dato Abdul Razak, Seremban

VI. Malay College Kuala Kangsar

 5.0 MEDIA COVERAGE

The tournament will be covered by the various media including mainstream newspapers and
broadcasting stations.
 6.0 WHAT DOES YOUR SPONSORSHIP MEAN

All sponsorship funding is directly invested into the tournament and is used to manage and
improve its organisation. Areas of expenditure include:

● Trophies, Medals and Prizes

● Stadium Rental

● Field Preparation & Equipment

● Refereeing and Umpiring

● Medical Services

● Equipment

● Coaching Programs

● Hospitality
 7.0 SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE

As a sponsor you will be a vital participant of the tournament. In return for your investment you
will get to promote and network your business through various marketing activities and you will
get invited to several functions and great schools rugby games. Your company will be well
looked after and we will promote your business to the best of our ability.

In return for your investment you will receive the following benefits:

● Championship naming rights

● Your name/logo will be placed on our Sponsor page on the website including a link to
your website. This page is dedicated to all sponsors of the tournament.

● You have the opportunity to put up signage at all the tournament matches.

● Your logo will appear on any tournament promotional material.

● Your name/logo will appear in the credits of the weekly player/team video which is
placed on the website, YouTube, Facebook and other social media.
