before submitting.
1. What is revealed about human nature (from Genesis 1-2)? Cite and reference the textbook.
Your answer in 100-150 words:
The Christian perspective has two major articulations with respect to human nature, as
indicated by Diffey (2014). To start with, in the picture of God, individuals are made
(Genesis 1:26–28). Second, after the fall of Adam and Eve into sin, all men became
immoral by nature. (Genesis 6:5; Romans 3:9–23). Human nature is unique. Humans are
thoughtful beings that have the capacity to reason. In the essence of humans, love,
faithfulness, goodness, tolerance, and fairness are expressed. Genesis 1-2 allows us to
understand God's creation. As He created man in his image and likeness with the purpose
of working and caring for the earth and all creation. "So, God created mankind in his own
image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Gen 1:27
2. What are the consequences of the fall for human nature (from Genesis 3)?
Your answer in 100-150 words:
It was all in order and peace. However, the right relationship, with Adam and Eve falling
into sin, was transformed into a broken relationship. The bond between individuals was
devastated and destroyed after the fall into sin. The bond between God and mankind was
3. What is revealed about human purpose? What does it mean for humans to flourish, in other
words, to achieve spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being? Cite and reference "The
Mystery of Original Sin" article.
Your answer in 100-150 words:
As mentioned in the book of Genesis, humans’ initial purpose was to fulfill and protect the
garden and eat and work and simply enjoy life. God wants us to have a relationship with
him and to know who and what He means to us, to achieve spiritual, emotional, and mental
well-being is to be one with God and allow Him to be the center of our life.
It is only when our relationship of joyful obedience to God rules everything that we are
fully free to be. (Shuster, 2013, p. 41)
Man's curiosity and temptation have generated sin and have altered the purpose of man. To
accomplish spiritual, physical, and psychological well-being, the temptation, envy, and
concern for 'I am' should be abandoned by man (Shuster, 2013).
4. How would pantheism or atheism (choose one) view human nature, human purpose, and
human flourishing?
Your answer in 100-150 words:
Through not obeying the wisdom of Heaven, man has committed sin. He produced a moral
sense, but also corruption and temptations as well. “Nevertheless, from the beginning,
something inside us is corrupt, so that with all our hearts we do not value what is good but
are profoundly inclined to evil” (Shuster, 2013). For a pantheistic world view, "God is
everything and everything is God … the world is either identical with God or in some way
a self-expression of his nature" (Owen 1971: 74), this would propose that to be unified
with holiness and creation, humanity ought to be one with divinity and creation. Every
individual is not just aspect of the heavenly however is itself divine. A sense of right and
wrong has been created by individuals, however they are likewise astute, building up their
own convictions.
5. The question, "How can an all-powerful, all knowing, and all good God allow suffering?" is
called the problem of evil and suffering. Briefly summarize the Christian worldview's
response to the problem of evil and suffering. Cite and reference the topic overview and/or
the textbook.
Your answer in 100-150 words:
There was no place in the universe for suffering. Because of humanity's revolt, misery
came when Adam and Eve first decided to rebel and choose their own way (Topic 3
1. Based on your research, address the following: highlight how the consequences of the fall are
evident in the issue(s) that the organization addresses; include statistics, causes, and impact
on people (victim, perpetrator, others as appropriate).
Your answer in 75-100 words:
2. Describe how this issue creates dehumanization and diminishes human dignity. Include
statistics, causes, and impact on people (victim, perpetrator, others as appropriate).
Your answer in 75-100 words:
“Dehumanization plays a role in helping after a disaster” (Andrighetto et al., 2014). People
ignore their human attributes, such as culture, in reacting to these disasters. Case after case,
it is shown that emergency disaster response is often quite dehumanizing. The
organizations present at these events do not offer any alternative for people to maintain
their patterns to meet their social needs. Responses to disaster usually ignore the essential
1. What organizational statement reveals that this organization is operating from a Christian
worldview?
Your answer in 250-300 words:
"Our mission: Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people
together to build homes, communities and hope." (Habitat for Humanity International,
2020).
"Our principles: Demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ, Promote dignity and hope, etc."
(Habitat for Humanity International, 2020).
The word "love" is one of the most important in the Christian worldview, it expresses what
communion between people must be. Human communities are called to reflect divine
communion. The Christian idea of love does not start from the experience of friendship or
conjugal love, but from the revelation of divine love.
The world continues to be fallen, and the temptations and sin is always present. But we are
constantly called to meaningful, sacrificial acts of love, compassion, and obedience to
God. We understand love, and Christ sacrificed his life for us, therefore our lives should be
laid down for our brothers. But people who has the world's goods, and leaves others in
need and closes his heart for them, does not remain in the love of God, we must not love
with words or lips, but with deeds and truth.
God's love passes all understanding. The very essence of God is love. Many times, our
human love is petty, limited, and selfish, but God's love is immense, it has no limits, it is
extraordinary. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
No one has more extraordinary love than this, that someone has set out his life for his
fellows. You are my friends if you do what I command you. These things I command you,
so that you will love one another.” John 15:12-14, 17.
2. Explain how the organization uses a God-centered worldview (as defined in the "The
Mystery of Original Sin" article) to address dehumanization and restore human dignity.
