marked absent. Leaders, who are the absent in your
group?

Thank you leaders. Yesterday, I asked you to

compile pictures of different tools and materials (Leaders will check the notebooks)
used in origami.
Your compilation will be your guide in our next
activity.

A. Reviewing the past lesson (ELICIT)

Do you still remember the lesson that we had last

time? Yes, Ma’am

What is that all about? Ma’am it is about different embroidery

stitches

What is a simple embroidery stitch that is good for Ma’am it’s Running Stitch
making dashed outlines ?

Correct!
What are the other different embroidery stitches? Ma’am, back stitch, chain stitch, cross stitch,
and french stitch

Very good! Any other.

Ma’am herringbone stitch, split stitch, stem,
satin stitch, feather stitch, bullion, blanket,

Very good!

Class, do you have any questions regarding our

None Ma’am
previous lesson?

Do you understand?
Yes Ma’am

B. Motivation

I want you to imagine that there is no waste

management in our world. How do you feel?

(Pick 3 students to answer)

Class, all your answers are correct. It is very hard if

there is no waste management in our world. Garbage
disposal is one of the biggest problems we Filipinos
face. There are so many things we waste, throw
away, burn or just take for granted.

Exactly. You’re right.

C. Lesson Proper
Today our topic is all about “Waste Management
Hierarchy”

In your own opinion, what is Waste Hierarchy ? Ma’am evaluation of processes

Correct!

It sets priorities for the efficient use of

Another idea class.
resources.

You’ve got it right!

Waste hierarchy is a tool used in the evaluation of

processes that protect the environment alongside
resources and energy.

There are five rankings in Waste Management

Hierarchy. The first three is the 3Rs used when
talking about waste products.

Let’s watch a short video clip.

Class, please observe silence. Kindly mute your mic. (Students will watch the video presentation
about the 3Rs)

Did you enjoy the video? Yes Ma’am

Based on what you’ve watched, what are the 3Rs

when talking about waste products?
Ma’am reduce, reuse and recycle
Very good!

Class when we say reduce is cutting back on the

amount of trash we make. Can you give an example? Ma’am,use your own reusable bag.

Very good!

One of the benefits of reducing waste are less use of

natural resources and less risk of pollution incidents.

Another R is reuse which means finding a new way

to use trash so that we don’t have
to throw it out. Kindly give an example of trash that
can be useful again? Ma’am my answer is clothes, glass jars and
cans.
Correct!

Another answer
Bottles, old magazine, and many more.
You’re right!

When we reuse our trash it helps sustain the

environment for future generations

What is the next R in 3Rs when talking about waste Ma’am the last R is recycle.
products?

You're correct! Recycling is using trash to remake

new goods that can be used again. Kindly give an
example of recyclable materials.
We can use recyclable materials such as old
newspaper and other disposable paper.

Very good!

Class, recycling doesn’t just save materials: it saves

energy too.
Ma’am recovery
What is the 4th Waste Management?
It means to recover energy in metals from waste.
Look at this picture (powerpoint presentation).
Ma’am recovery is to convert waste into
What can you say? resources such as electricity, heat, compost
and fuel.

Very good!

And in our last rank is disposal. It means that it is

least desirable. In short,it is the process of throwing
away or getting rid of something.

Always consider the method of Solid Waste

Disposal and Management.

Alright, do you have any questions about the Waste

Management Hierarchy?

Is our discussion clear to everyone?

jumbled letter per item.) within 30 seconds per item)
