Evaluation of a Lesson Plan

Evaluate the following lesson plans on the basis of its parts and the principles involved in
designing such.

Lesson in Common and Proper Nouns

I. Objectives

The teacher has to present the following objectives:

At the end of the period, the students should be able to:

1. Understand the definition of noun;


2. Proper and common nouns; and
3. Give examples of proper and common nouns.

II. Motivation

Students will be divided into 3 groups. Let the students play Pinoy Henyo.

Words: rabbit, Rodrigo Duterte, scientist, Donald Trump, shampoo, Clear Men

III.Discussion Proper

A. Ask the class the definition of noun.


B. The teacher writes on the board common and proper nouns and explains why they
are so.

IV. Engaging in Activities

Activity A
The class will be divided into 2 groups. The students will list common nouns
associated with the noun the teacher gives. The word is kitchen.

Activity B
The students will give proper nouns for the common nouns the teacher dictates.
Words: shampoo, car, clothes, classmate, toothpaste

V. Generalizing Key Takeaways

1. In the discussion we had earlier, were we able to identify nouns in context?


2. Were we able to differentiate common nouns from proper nouns?
Lesson Plan in
Literature 1 (Philippine Literature)

Title of Story: Buneng by Jose Bragado

Materials: Blackboard and board marker

I. Motivation: The teacher asks the students to give their comments regarding the
following statements.
1. A parent’s love is unconditional.
2. A parent can favor one child over another child.
3. A child rebels against or hates his/her parents when his/her requests are not granted.
4. A child has the freedom to enjoy his youth and lfie.

At the end of the class sharing, the teacher establishes the connection of their answers to
the story at hand.

II. Literary Discussion

Questions for Discussion:


1. Does the father have a good reason to prevent Andres from going to Vigan?
2. Do you think Andres’s cursing his father is justifiable?
3. If you were Andres, would you go with your brother back to Manila and pursue your dreams
or stay with your aging father?
4. What can you say about the shift of behavior of the father from the start of the story and the
ending of the story?
5. Discuss the meaning of the lines: “Ti biag kasla buneng. Aglatlati a paslep idi. Itan,
sumilsilapen a tadem.

III. Literary Focus: Characters

The class will be divided into groups of five. They are made to accomplish a character chart
of the main characters of the story by focusing on their positive and negative attributes. Afterwhich,
the groups present their output in the class.

IV. Evaluation

Tell the students to maintain the same grouping for the first activity. Ask each group to pick
a scene or part of the story that they find significant and do a re-enactment of that scene.

V. Assignment:
Ask the students to write a letter to their parent/s. Tell them to write their
sentiments/thoughts about their parents.
