Loving the life of Zoology

“We commonly say in the trade that the most dangerous animal in a zoo is Man.”

Zoologists study animals in their natural environment and conduct experiments in a lab or

in a zoo. People that want to be a zoologist will have to love animals of all shapes and sizes to

become a zoologist. They will also have to be an outgoing person who is not afraid to get dirty

during the fieldresearch. Becoming a zoologist is a very rewarding job because of the

knowledge, pay, and adventures.

“Becoming a zoologist takes hard work and a large commitment to studying marine or

wildlife biology, but in the end a career in this field is extremely rewarding”(“Complete Career

Guide + Salary”). Zoologists will travel all over the world studying different habitats, creatures,

and their behaviors . Zoologists will also study endangered species, overpopulation, and

extinction. “Their efforts are critical to protecting endangered species and other wildlife from the

pressures of habitat loss, disease, invasive species, and climate change”(“What is a Zoologist”).

Zoologists will make journal articles and give presentations on their studies to share their

findings and experiences.

There are many different jobs that people could do with a zoologist degree like work in a

Wildlife center, wildlife park, aquariums, and zoos. “The two biggest factors contributing to the

average Zoologist income are the field of employment and the location”(“How Much Does a

Zoologist Make?”). A zoologist's lowest annual pay is less than 39,150 dollars, while the highest

annual pay is about 98,540 dollars. The salary will range between certain jobs and what degrees
the person has. “As a general rule, your pay is greater when your educational level exceeds a

bachelor's degree.”(“What Is the Standard Beginning Wage As a Zoologist?”). There are alot of

different careers that are available with a zoology degree.

If a person has a bachelor's degree in zoology and works for the wildlife center then they

will make about 35,000 dollars annually. If a person has a doctorate degree in Zoology and

works for an aquarium or a zoo they will make about 106,820 annually. If someone decides to

become a zoologist it means that the rest of their lives will be one big adventure of hard work,

learning, and fun. Zoologists study all kinds of different animals, bacteria, and the environments.

Zoologists go on all kinds of adventures like going to different countries to study the

environment and the different species of animals that live in that particular area. Zoologists will

go diving in the ocean and study marine life. If a zoologist is lucky they will get to go to the

rainforest and study the broad ecosystem and different species of animals that live there.

“Zoologists commonly conduct research on living and dead animals to study the circumstances

of how they live and die.”(What are the Benefits of Being a Zoologist?”). Zoologists are very

lucky because they study and explore the great wonders of life as a career.

A career in zoology is a very rewarding job. Zoologists make a decent amount of money

with a four year degree and they make a very good amount of money when they have anything

above a four year degree. Zoologists are constantly solving problems and learning new things

about the world. There is never a dull moment when in the field of zoology because of the

adventures that the zologist go on and the experiments they get to do. Zoology is an amazing

career for anyone that is interested in studying animals, animal behavior, and different

ecosystems.
