Evaly one of the fastest-growing digital commerce startups in Bangladesh.

The startups is

founded by Mohammad Rassel, the company started its journey in December 2018 with an

ambition of building an everything store of Bangladesh.

Within a short time, the Evely app quickly became famous. Evalyis essentially e-commerce

focused platform able to deliver any sort of product to any Bangladesh-based customer. The

Evaly app has been downloaded in the Google Play Store over five Laks times in less than six

months. The registered customers are roughly 1.2 million Users up to now have more than five

million times downloaded their Android app. The Evely and Evely app got over 25,000 ratings.

Such comments average four decimal eight out of five.

Additionally, there is a ranking of more than three in the Community Guideline which means it

is appropriate for all ages. The members of Evali's Facebook Community Group are around one

and a half million people.

Evaly aims to build the largest product collection in Bangladesh. The company says it has made

solid progress towards the direction. It has a growing number of sellers all types of them,

including brand sellers, big retailers, and small offline retailers. “We have offline retailers

coming online for the first time using Evaly. Evaly has also been able to attract a significant

number of small face book and online sellers who are now using Evaly as their online home. The

company, it has been building its web and app from the ground up because it wanted to build

custom features that allow it to become the everything store. The company has also built a

diverse platform where you can find every type of product. “On the product front, they have sold

almost all types of products. They are only lagging in fashion items. Other than that, they are

going for all the other items. They sold cars. They sold rod and cement, jewelry, grocery and

everything in between. They have achieved about 40% of our initial goal regarding everything
store.

From day one, Evaly has focused on offering price benefits to customers which goes well with

the established norm of retail success across the world offer great collection at the best price and

win. Walmart has applied this in large scale retail and now Amazon is doing the same to online

retail. Evaly says it aims to do it in Bangladesh. This strategy has played an important role in the

growth of Evaly. Over the past one year, Evaly has, to some extent, shaken up the entire

ecommerce market in Dhaka. With an aggressive push for growth, extensive investment in brand

building, and an ingenious operational strategy the company has become a leading local

ecommerce player in Bangladesh. The company says it aims higher. From the beginning, Evaly

has focused extensively on growing its number. ecommerce has suffered from dwindling
numbers when it came to GMV in Dhaka for a while. Evaly says it has changed that equation.

With a focus on high-value items such as motorbikes, AC, refrigerator, mobile phones, and other

high-value products and a competitive incentive model for customers, Evaly has quickly been

able to grow its number. The company is already a dominant player in high-value products –

products that cost above BDT 10,000.

Over the past two months, Evaly has seen a 400% growth in customers and the company says it

will cross Daraz in the number of unique customers in the next year.

Evaly has also seen impressive growth in its app download. The company has added impressive

features to its platforms such as social feed, messaging and so on to improve customer

engagement. There are some complaints regarding Evaly service, particularly with lengthy

delivery time it takes to deliver goods to customers.

The company says it is aware of the matter and it regrets the limitation. However, it says Evaly

has taken meaningful initiatives to address some of the challenges regarding customer experience

in the past months. The customer service has improved over the past months and will continue to

improve as it has been paying attention to the matter of late.

Mr. Rassel says dealing with large items has many limitations which sometimes affect delivery

time. However, he stresses that “all of our customers get their products delivered. We ensure that

part religiously. At the same time, we are working hard to ensure that we improve our service

quality and our customers get better experience shopping.

There are several benefits to adding a feature that could engage your users. One apparent benefit

is, of course, it will improve user engagement. Since the news feed allows users to share their

thoughts and opinion, a large number of users is likely to take advantage of the feature and

participate in the conversation, eventually driving up the overall engagement in the app. And

engagement often leads to conversion. “We have introduced an MVP of Newsfeed feature on

Evaly App and to our surprise, the response has been overwhelming,” says Mr. Rassel. “It has

meaningful added to our overall user engagement.”

The company says an update to the News Feed is on the way which will allow users to post

reviews and ask for products or product reviews, a first for Bangladesh’s e-commerce industry.

Additionally, buyers will be able to negotiate prices and mention friends to see a product

together and share the product with them directly without the hassle of copying links.

Accordingly UNCTAD, logistics is one of the major setbacks behind sluggish growth of the

ecommerce industry in many developing markets. Bangladesh is one those markets. The

relatively weak postal service, lack of infrastructure, poor service and limited coverage of

traditional and new generation logistics companies have made logistics as one of the more

pressing issues for the ecommerce companies in Bangladesh.
