benefits designed to give you greater value from your membership.

NEW MEMBER BENEFITS

Effective Jan 2020: Adopter Members Can Participate in LoRa Alliance Committee Working Group and
Task Force Teleconference Calls

Our 300+ Adopter Members have immense knowledge, experience, and competency with LoRaWAN products
and services. Participation gives all members an active voice in our activities that will enhance the development
and promotion of the LoRaWAN standard. This opportunity to participate in Working Groups and Task Forces
teleconference calls of the Marketing, Technical and Certification Committees (see chart below) is a key
benefit allowing you to strengthen your relationships with other members and foster collaboration to grow your
LoRaWAN business.

Details on how to join teleconference calls and a schedule of working group / task force meetings will be shared
the first week of January.
Available Now: LoRaWAN Certification Test Tool and LoRaWAN Certification Program

The LoRa Alliance made a significant investment over the past 12 months to develop the LoRaWAN
Certification Test Tool [LCTT], which is now available to all members on a free global license. The LoRa
Alliance will continue to invest in the development of the test tool to support the LoRaWAN Standard as it
evolves to meet changing market demands.

The LCTT is a pre-certification testing tool designed for use at a device manufacturer’s facility to pretest and
prove a device design before shipping it for formal certification testing. This benefits members by allowing full
testing and regression testing of your devices at your location, saving time and money by allowing you to debug
and finalize your designs before starting the formal certification process. Use of this tool will help you develop
more robust products and ensure faster time to market of fully functional devices. This benefits the entire
LoRaWAN ecosystem by ensuring interoperability and our brand promise in the market.

• The 1st license for LCTT is free to all member companies NOW. The 1st license will continue to be renewed
for free in accordance with your membership renewal.
• The one free license for the LCTT is issued by the LoRa Alliance and restricts the use of the tool to an
individual PC for the license period.
• Any existing licenses which have already been allocated in 2019 will automatically be extended until your
renewal date.
• Additional LCTT licenses are available at USD 2,000 per individual PC per year. Purchased licenses will run
for 12 months from the date payment is received.

Applications should be made via cert-test@lora-alliance.org

Be sure to review the “Read Me” file in the Member Portal folder first!

As a member, you have access to the LoRaWAN Certification program; once products
successfully pass certification testing, you are allowed to use the LoRaWAN CertifiedCM
mark. Although many alliances charge for test certificates, we will continue to issue
LoRaWAN CertifiedCM Test Certificates and the LoRaWAN CertifiedCM Mark as part of
your benefits package.

Other Certification Initiatives

In Europe, a group of Operators has rolled out a program requiring devices to have LoRaWAN certification to
be connected to their network. This is a clear endorsement for only using LoRaWAN CertifiedCM devices. This
program will be extended to cover all geographic areas through 2020. The new LoRaWAN Showcase is the go-
to resource to make it easy for the operators to select the official LoRaWAN CertifiedCM devices that meet their
needs.

Added Regulatory Support

In the past 12 months, we have invested heavily and taken multiple measures to support our position in the
unlicensed spectrum. As part of this effort, the LoRa Alliance has hired a full-time regulatory consultant and
additional regional experts as required to lobby on the LoRa Alliance’s behalf around the world. Given the use
of unlicensed spectrum, our regulatory activities are of the utmost importance to keep the current spectrum
available and to secure additional spectrum in new geographies.
Investment in External Marketing Communications and Social Media

Over the past 12 months, we have added dedicated support to expand our outreach and increase global
visibility, increasing our marketing activities including PR, content development, blogging, and social media. We
have also invested in automation and CRM tools to nurture leads, thereby educating web visitors and driving
new business opportunities for our members.

New Vertical Marketing Investment

To drive awareness and deployment of LoRaWAN in key vertical markets we also hired a dedicated resource
to develop and implement our vertical marketing strategy. This included participation at more than 12 new
vertical market events this year, providing opportunities for you to participate as demo partners. These events
are combined with campaigns focused on targeted content including whitepapers, webinars, use cases and
contributed articles for media publication amplifying opportunities for member visibility.

LoRa Alliance Funded Vertical and Horizontal Events for 2019

This year, the LoRa Alliance made a significant investment in having a presence at a large range of IoT and
horizontal events with marketing campaigns focusing on increasing global awareness of LoRaWAN and directly
reaching end-users within key verticals. As a direct benefit of these membership changes, Adopter Members
are now able to also participate in working groups to engage in the development of marketing plans for 2020.
This change was made to ensure our strong ecosystem of Adopter members has a greater influence over and
participation in the activities of our working groups and task forces around the world.

The list below details some of the LoRa Alliance funded and supported events that enabled members to
participate with partner pods and demo opportunities [at low or no cost] – a significant member benefit driving

global resource where customers can search to find all LoRaWAN services and solutions and the Showcase
allows ecosystem members to connect, partner and collaborate to develop end-to-end solutions, providing
