CATHOLIC WOMEN
NO “Catholic Women and Friends” on August 21st and 28th.
On September 4th, “Catholic Women and Friends” will begin a weekly
study on the New Testament book, Romans. Grow in your faith and meet
other Catholic women every Thursday morning at 9:45am.
“You are the Branches” will kick off our new parish cookbook and
women’s programs for the next school year! Please join us Sat., Aug.
23rd for the 9am Mass and then over to the parish hall to eat, hear about
our programs and buy your copy of the new cookbook. This is a great
time to meet new women and sign up to get involved. If you sent a
recipe for the cookbook, bring your dish to share and we will have a great

Revelation Wrap-Up! This Thurs. at 9:45am, Dr. Ruth Smith will wrap
up our study on Revelation. Even if you have not been able to attend
before, come and learn more about the Catholic perspective on this book.

FAITH FORMATION
RENEW Season 2 – The Sacraments: Wanted! Facilitators! If you
facilitated last year or are interested in leading a small group this year,

can help. Facilitator refresher training will be offered on Sept. 13 from 1-
3:30pm at St. Thomas the Apostle in Lenoir City or Sept. 17 from 6:30-
9pm at Sacred Heart gym.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION SIGN UP in the Parish Hall after all the
Masses on Aug. 23-24 for ALL grades, Pre-K-Grade 12.
GRADES 1-5 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Teaching Teams Required and Needed: Need one person to complete
a second teaching team for 1st grade and would like to have one more
teaching team (2 persons) for possible growth of 1st grade. Would like

CATHOLIC CHARITIES
Catholic Charities will hold its first ever Special Events Training and
Kick-off for volunteers and staff, Sat., Aug. 23 at the Chancery. The
training is open to current or potential volunteers across the diocese who
will be working with the various fund-raising events for the Chattanooga,
Jonesborough and Knoxville regions. For reservations or more info,

The Men Moving Forward program needs two working printers for use
by program participants. If you have one you could donate, please call
MMF volunteer Jerry C. at [# omitted].
Catholic Charities Counseling Program is designed to benefit adults,
adolescents and children. Offices are conveniently located at All Saints,
Sacred Heart, St. Mary’s and IC as well as other locations. The program
does not treat chemical dependency as a primary diagnosis, nor do we
treat psychotic disorders. We work with persons who are having
emotional, behavioral or adjustments issues. Coping skills such as
positive reinforcement, realistic, individual goal setting, and personal
responsibility, are taught to clients of all ages.

The 8th grade students are again sponsoring a special breakfast at
Aubrey’s (off Emory Rd. in Powell) on Sat., Aug. 23 from 8-10am.
Enjoy eggs, pancakes, meat and a drink for only $5/person or $25/family.
All proceeds will help pay their way to Camp Greenville as well as

OTHER
FOSTER CARE. Currently East Tennessee is in a major shortage for
foster parents. This shortage is causing a crisis within the state of
Tennessee. A great number of children need healthy homes, and healthy
role models to heal the wounds that were inflicted upon them. They need
to live in a home with parents that can teach them independent living
skills, so they can become functioning people in society. Please contact
one of the local foster care agencies if you can offer a loving home for
any of these children and to obtain more details.
