CAUSES OF FIRES

1. Most Fires are caused by, People, Electricity, Spontaneous combustion and Unsafe handling of liquefied petroleum gas.

Firstly – What is fire?


Fire is actually a BI – Product of a larger process called combustion. Fire is a result of rapid combustion.

Secondly – What is Combustion?
Combustion is a self sustaining process of rapid oxidation of a fuel which produces heat and light. Combustion is a
chemical reaction or series of chemical reactions where heat and light are involved.

How is fire caused by spontaneous combustion?
Oil soaked rags, Split oil saturating combustibles, Leaving cans or tins of certain oils open, Oxidising agents left about,
compost heaps, coal heaps.
