STEP 2: Ranking the criteria
Based on the row averages of the normalized matrix above, it shows that the appearance
is the highest-priority criterion of Station WRCH in accepting a news anchor. Speaking ability
ranked second, while intelligence appear to be relatively unimportant in terms of the overall
objective in determining the best candidate to accept for the position as it ranked last.

STEP 3: Developing an overall ranking
eH w
o.
An overall score for each candidate is computed by multiplying the values in the criteria
rs e
preference vector by the preceding criteria matrix and summing the products as shown below:
ou urc
Pawlie = 0.6571(0.5907)+0.0683(0.1226)+0.2746(0.2222) = 0.4576
Cooric = 0.6571(0.3338)+0.0683(0.3202)+0.2746(0.6667) = 0.4243

third.

AHP CONSITENCY
Since the consistency index is not equal to 0, Station WRCH is not perfectly consistent.
m
Therefore, we should determine the acceptable level of inconsistency by comparing consistency
er as
index and random index as shown below:
co
eH w
CI = 0.0219 = 0.0377
o.
RI 0.58
rs e
ou urc
The computation above indicates that WRCH’s degree of consistency is satisfactory
because their result of CI/RI is less than 0.10, otherwise, it means that there are inconsistencies.
