Eo Price Monitoring Committee
WHEREAS, Section 17 of RA 7160 known as the 1991 Local Government Code of the
Philippines, indicates that LGUs shall endeavor to be self reliant and exercise its powers to
efficiently and effectively deliver the provision of the basic services and facilities in its area of
jurisdiction;
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7581 provides for the protection of consumers by prescribing
measures against undue price increases during emergency situations. It empowers the
President, upon he recommendation of the NPCC, to impose price ceiling on any basic
necessity or price commodity.
WHEREAS, in the light of the recent increase in the prices of basic commodities, the NPCC in
coordination with LGUs has to exert extra effort in monitoring the prices of basic necessities
and prime commodities;
WHEREAS, in the regular occurrence of typhoon and natural calamities, especially in times of
pandemic there is a need for a daily monitoring of prices in business establishments;
Section 2. Powers and Function: The PMPCC shall be responsible for the following:
a) Coordinate and rationalize the programs to stabilize prices and supplies of basic
necessities and prime commodities;
b) Recommend to the NPCC or the implementing agencies the suggested retail price (SRP)
and or the price ceiling of certain basic necessities and/or prime commodities in the
municipality;
d) Recommend action steps to correct unwarranted price increases and supply shortages;
e) Regular inspection of public and private markets, stores, rice warehouses, and business
establishments;
f) Activate Hotlines, Consumer Complaint Desk at the Negosyo Center and the Timbangan
ng Bayan in all public markets;
g) Coordinate with the LCE in the Deputization of Barangay Officials and NGOs to monitor a
abnormal price increases in every barangay of this municipality and submit monthly
reporting to the PMPCC Members;
Section 3. Meetings and Quorum: The PMPCC shall meet at least once in every quarter or
the chairperson may call for a special meeting as may be deemed necessary with proper
documentation. A simple majority of the members herein identified shall constitute a quorum.

Section 4. Repealing Clause: All orders and issuance inconsistent with or redundant to this
order are hereby superseded, repealed or modified accordingly.
Section 5. Separability Clause: If for any reason, any part or provisions of this Executive
Order shall be held unconstitutional or invalid, other parts or provisions which are not affected
shall continue to be in full force and effect.
