invoked the constitutional supply regarding the "duty of the express to provide and
protect its citizens, " Is to promote the role in the youth in nation-building. As such, it
should encourage the youth to get civic and / or military commanders and volunteers
whom could possibly be called upon by nation in cases their companies are needed.
Compared with the ROTC which will specializes in armed forces training, as well as the
ROTC which granted three options for young students yet was limited in

PERFORMANCE
Individual Output:
Activity 1.
Activity 2. Essay (in not less than 200 words)
1. How NSTP beneficial to the student?
This program is so beneficial for it is one way for the students to learn and train to
become well-disciplined and effective. The purpose of this program is to recognize the
youth’s vital role in nation-building, promote consciousness among youth and develop
their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being. it shall inculcate in the
youth patriotism, nationalism, and advance their involvement in public and civic affairs.
The NSTP (Lawphil, 2002) is a service rendered to one’s own country with its aim of
enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing
the ethics of service and patriotism while undergoing training in any of its three (3)
program components in the Philippines.

The NSTP gave importance to the enhancement of civic consciousness without

compromising the national security importance of NSTP moreover, it defined the
different components, the duration of the training, to identify their role as change agents
in the community. To prepare and implement projects that will answer specific , purpose
of NSTP.

2. Is it necessary to take up this course (NSTP)?

NSTP or the National Service Training Program is needed in a college's

curriculum because it instills in our youth a sense of patriotism for our country. It also
prepares them to be socially aware and responsible individual members of the
community. Yes, it is necessary to take up NSTP because according to Republic Act
9163 enabled the establishment of National Service Training Program for Tertiary Level
students with an aim to promote civic consciousness among the youth and inculcate in
them the spirit of nationalism and advance their involvement in public and civic affairs.

NSTP is a program designed to develop the youth’s physical, moral, spiritual,

intellectual, and social well-being and promote defense preparedness and ethics of
service while undergoing training in any of its three program components. Its various
components are specially designed to enhance the youth’s active contribution to the
general welfare.

3. Among the 3 components of NSTP which do you think is best for you and why?
CWTS is a civic education and defense preparedness training that involves values
integration and transformational leadership, as well as enhancing civic consciousness
and commitment of students. This will involve intensive community exposure and
participation in different social development activities as well, which will prepare
students for emergency operations and risk reduction programs when the situation calls
for it.
Students will also be required to attend seminars that can further enhance skills
involving disaster preparedness, often initiating you to practical applications and
techniques to help assist your fellowmen when the inevitable strikes. Most times, you
will also be participating in lighter activities as well, such as participation in community
service programs and literacy delivery programs among the locales.
CWTS, as the name implies, might interest students that find it engrossing to engage in
social service and the more practical side of community development programs. This
sounds much less rigorous than its ROTC counterpart, but in no way is it less fruitful
when it comes to the many things that you will learn, and the amount of skills that you
will acquire.
