DUST OF SNOW

BY ROBERT FROST
Sometimes our foul mood
can narrow the world,
until it seems like our
problems are the only
things we are focusing on .
The way the crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From the hemlock tree

Has given my heart

A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued
Frost in this poem gives us next to no details
about what happened that day.
-What was he doing in the snow?
-Why was he in such a bad mood?
THE CROW IS NOT WHAT LIFTED HIS MOOD.
THE HEMLOCK TREE WAS NOT THE REASON.
THE SNOW WAS NOT THE REASON EITHER.
CATALYST in the change of the poet’s mood is the
WAY THAT THE CROW SHOOK DOWN THE DUST
OF SNOW.
Theme :

Communication between nature

and humans
Nature healing and helping with
negative human emotion.
The significance of small natural
events.
•The message is clear enough. Sometimes
seemingly insignificant natural events do
bring about change. Being outdoors in
nature, with all its unpredictability, can
benefit anyone, anywhere at anytime.
The way the crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From the hemlock tree

Has given my heart

A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued
