[•TAP CODE•]
• Tap code is a code similar to Morse code and is commonly used by prisoners in jail to communicate
with one another. It uses polybius square table for basis.
• Communicated by two taps, first tap for the horizontal row and second tap for the vertical row.

5VWXYZ
• It was invented by four POWs imprisoned in Vietnam and is sometimes called “Smitty Code” after
Captain Carlyle “Smitty” Harris—an Air Force Instructor who had shown him a code based on a five-by-

Type: Trasposition
> morse code is a system to encode thanks to short and long impulses. Each letter or punctuation mark
is associated with a sequence of signals. These signals are translated to the following characters:
A= .-
B= -...
C= -.-.

E= .
F= ..-.
G= --.

that can be found in a dictionary.
Example: TEACHER
Anagrammed: CHEATER
***
4.) PERMUTATION- changing the word randomly. It is a word that has a meaning in the dictionary but
the permutated word has none.
Example: TEACHER
Permutated: EEAHCRST
Example: PROSPER
Permutated: ROPPERS
