[•TAP CODE•]

What is Tap Code?

• Tap code is a code similar to Morse code and is commonly used by prisoners in jail to communicate
with one another. It uses polybius square table for basis.

• Communicated by two taps, first tap for the horizontal row and second tap for the vertical row.

1 2 3 4 5

1ABCDE

2 F G H I/J K

3LMNOP

4QRSTU

5VWXYZ

Who invented Tap Code?

• It was invented by four POWs imprisoned in Vietnam and is sometimes called “Smitty Code” after
Captain Carlyle “Smitty” Harris—an Air Force Instructor who had shown him a code based on a five-by-
five alphabet matrix(Polybius Square)

Encryption:

Just type the corresponding taps(dot/s) to your plaintext value and use '/' '\' '|' as a seperators.

- is used by kids in a movie so that the both of them can understand what they're saying.

[•MORSE CODE•]

Type: Trasposition

> morse code is a system to encode thanks to short and long impulses. Each letter or punctuation mark
is associated with a sequence of signals. These signals are translated to the following characters:

•Dot(.) is the elementary pulse

•Comma(,) represents pulse three times longer than the point

•Space( ) represent separation between two letters

•Vergule(/) represents separation between words

[•Jumbler/Rumbler Ciphers•]

1.) Skip Code

2.) Reverse Cipher

3.) Anagram
4.) Permutation

5.) Tri Code

***

1.) SKIP CODE- switching the middle letters with its consecutive letter.

Example: sECREt

Skipped Code: sCEERt

Explanation:

SECRET

S(E<->C)(R<->E)T

SCEERT

*(If odd number of letters)

Example: HAPPINESS

Encrypted: HPAIPENSS

Explanation:

H(A<->P)(P<->I)(N<->- E)SS

***

2.) REVERSE CIPHER- this has 2 modes:

Mode 1- WORDS that are written, reversely.

Mode 2- SENTENCE that are written, reversely.

Example:

Mode1- TEACHER

Encrypted- REHCAET

Mode2- I LOVE YOU

Encrypted- UOY EVOL I

***

3.) ANAGRAM- changing the arrangement of a word into another word. This is basically forming words
that can be found in a dictionary.

Example: TEACHER

Anagrammed: CHEATER
***

4.) PERMUTATION- changing the word randomly. It is a word that has a meaning in the dictionary but
the permutated word has none.

Example: TEACHER

Permutated: EEAHCRST

Example: PROSPER

Permutated: ROPPERS

***

5.) TRI CODE- words that are divided into three letters then the first and third letter are swapped.

Example

1.) Telephone= Let hpe eno

2.) Forget about it= Rof teg oba itu t

3.) I love you= Oli yev ou

4.) Let it go= Tel gti o

5.) Peter pan and tinkerbell= Tep pre ana tdn kni bre lle
