Unveiling Science Complexity: Going Basic

Last week, I came across on how Joan Girther was able to won lottery four times by understanding the
algorithms of the game. It made me curious then if we’ll able to unfold the complexity and mystery
behind things if we got to analyze them. By watching ‘Big History of Modern Science’ by Hannu
Rajaniemi, I learn that to understand science complexity we must understand its simple form. He
discussed how vast galaxies were compose of tiny stars; how radiation therapy was discovered just to
know if atoms is the smallest thing in Earth; the discovery of the composition of an atom; and how a
transistor was able to produce weapons that cause catastrophe in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is
wonderful how small things get to make big change happen. And in order for us to understand these big
things, we must understand everything, and that means we get to explore and learn how things were
connected to comprehend what they really are. We only get to understand these complexities if we go
back to where it all started, on how science and technology has created these societal changes. Studying
history of science, we were able to have a glimpse of how other people made their own discovery, we
develop a new way of thinking that might lead us to have our own discoveries. It provides us the insight
into how processes of knowledge progress, how technological advances are developed and employed to
create a change of vital importance.
