4.1 Introductory Activity
2 minutes Let the students to recapitulate about the previous topic in Music

4.2 Activity
Teacher provides pictures of the famous novels of Jose Rizal which are the El Filibusterismo and
Noli Me Tangere. Let students to explain what are the novels all about .
Possible answer: Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo have similarities in terms of aim and

purpose. Both aim to enlighten the Filipinos on what is happening in the country. They want the
people to fight for their country and have the total freedom

4.3 Analysis
Let students to share their opinion of why did theater performers turned the novel El
Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere into musical play? What are their purpose?
Possible answer: They want it to be staged into a musical play because of its famous story line
9 minutes and many of the people can relate from it especially to our government and in our society.
Knowing that these novels were made by Jose Rizal, people will surely watch the play and all of
the production staff could gain money from it.

4.4 Abstraction
Let students to discuss the synopsis of the novel El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere.
Possible answer: Noli Me Tangere revolves around Crisostomo Ibarra, mixed-race heir
of a wealthy clan, returning home after seven years in Europe and filled with ideas on how to
better the lot of his countrymen.El Filibusterismo is a sequel from the novel Noli Me Tangere,
the protagonist of El Filibusterismo is a jeweler named Simoun. He is the new identity of
Crisostomo Ibarra who escaped from pursuing soldiers. It is revealed that Crisostomo dug up his
buried treasure and fled to Cuba, becoming richer and befriending Spanish officials.
Let students to discuss the synopsis of the novel El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere.
