The research has two variables, they are one independent variable and one
dependent variable

The objective of the research is to describe the correlation between the speaking
ability of students and the mastery of grammar in the eleventh grade students of
SMA 2 Tarakan

4. How to distinguish between your research problem (s) and your

Research question (s)?
My research question is what is the correlation between speaking ability and the
mastery of grammar in eleventh grade students of SMA 2 TARAKAN?

And, my research problem are; what is the effect if students have a tendency to
speak without the good grammar? And is there any relation between speaking ability
and the mastery of grammar?

5. Can you give one Indirect and direct quotation?

Nguyen (2011:16) reveals that English teachers in Indonesia, in several occasions, offer
lectures dealing with grammar. Students are deliberately directed to learn grammar
in order to pass the national examinations which basically derived from typical
reading and grammar tests.
6. Can you give the flowchart of your theoretical framework?
First, I want to know the speaking ability of my students. then, I ask
them orally. Next, I give them some exercise that is have correlation
between speaking and grammar.

The instrument of the research that used by the writer are oral test and Interview to
collect the data.

9. What data analysis will you employ?

The writer used formula Mean, standard deviation and correlation product moment
correlation to calculate index correlation speaking and grammar.

10. What should we compose in the research conclusion?

When we compose the research conclusion, we should write the conclusion with the
clear and simple language, summarize and reflect on the research, and make
recommendations for future work on the topic.
