For women height 155 cm or more, 45 kg or more RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING - Education is highly stressed in police recruitment and promotion. Entrance to the force is determined by examinations administered by each prefecture. Examiners are divided into two groups; 1. Upper- secondary- school graduate 2. PPH interview those who pass the written examination. Final selections are mode based on an assessment of applicants ability and capability to the rigor of police duties. 1. All Japanese police recruits undergo a standarized curriculum set by Japan’s police agency. 2. High school graduates undergo 1 year of police school 3. After which, they are given “hands on” experience through 3 months of field work. 4. Once the 3 months is over, the recruits then return for 6 months more. 5. College graduates undergo a slightly different system. 3 months of field work, they only attend police school for 8 months before hand and 4 months after.
6. Anyone attending their 1st year of police school
must live in a dormitory, even if they are married.
