I love RF, but this month is not just about Valentine’s Day.
February whispers to us about the end of our winter and summons the hope for an early spring. Trey Pennington

We’ve had enough of the cold and dark by the start of this short month. It will pass quickly...
This issue brings with it a few changes and a few important points to consider – so keep an eye out Kathryn Hardaway

You’ve heard of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn—all great ways to connect with people around the world and right
here at home. They’re all totally worthless, though, if you’re out-and-about and you can’t get on the Internet.
Several years ago an enterprising soul sought to remedy that problem by setting up free WIFI access throughout
downtown. For whatever reason, that access very rarely works.
Now another enterprising soul, entrepreneur Neil Lopez, is making ultra high-speed Internet access available along
Main Street. His company, Nuvella Communications, installed a massive connection to the Internet and is sharing it
with visitors downtown. The service is fast and free. Right now it’s available from the former Daniel Building to just
past City Hall. Soon they’ll be adding a more access to cover all of Falls Park and Riverplace
through the West End.
To access the connection, visit downtown Greenville along Main Street, simply tell your
computer to display available Internet connections, look for GreaterGreenville, select it,
and enjoy super-fast Internet speed.
If you want to keep up with progress, check out Neil’s company website
http://www.nuvellacommunications.com or follow Nuvella on Twitter Nuvella.
The web portal supporting the GreaterGreenville WIFI will be
MyGreaterGreenvilleSC.com.

The Greenville Forward Momentum Series takes place during the lunch hour on the third Thursday of each
month and involves intimate community conversations. The topics range from social services to youth
engagement. By creating conversation and collaborations, these monthly programs create Momentum with
Vision 2025.
February’s Momentum Series will discuss “Innovating Greenville.” Recently, entrepreneurship has become an
emphasis of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce through the formation of the NEXT Innovation Center and
was mentioned as one of they key emphases of President Obama’s 2011 State of the Union Address. We will
discuss how we can better cultivate our entrepreneurs in Greenville and how we can use innovative companies
to impact our economic development. If you want to learn more or to be added to our Momentum mailing list,
email Program Director Brock Koonce: bkoonce@greenvilleforward.com
Greenville Forward was created in January 2006 to help Greenville achieve Vision 2025, the bold, comprehensive, and
aggressive plan to create a vibrant Greenville in the next twenty-five years. By having a group like Greenville Forward,
whose sole purpose is to facilitate, coordinate, and communicate the ideas from Vision 2025, the aggressive goals for
Vision 2025 will be kept vibrant, alive, and attainable.

SWAGCLUB
9 Rules Of SWAGCLUB
1 You don’t talk about swagclub.
2 You don’t talk about swagclub. Unless you need great swag.
3 The search for great swag is over only when you say ‘Wow–that nails it!’
4 Only two guys to a fight. Unless we need help, then we bring in the big guns. We know a guy.
5 One swag project at a time.
6 We work with no ties or socks. Even on Sundays-always workin’, but never stressin’ the work.
7 The quest for great swag goes on as long as it needs to. Gonna take some questions,
as a perfect fit beats fast answers.
8 First projects are often the start of a
great relationship. Or the end of a bad one.
9 Great advice @swagclub is always free.
