PD (Solmax Advanced Product Series)
b. Carbon black is essentially electrically conductive. The main parameters influencing the final
conductivity are the type of carbon black used (mainly its structure and aggregate chaining,
particle size, purity and loading level).
c. Despite the perfect quality control from manufacturing plants as well as the installation
techniques, geomembranes installed at site still leaks! Instead of unavoidable, it can only
reduced by detection.
Forget B., Rollin A.L. and Jacquelin T. (2005): ~ 70% - 80% of leaks located at the liner!
e. Technical Advantages
- Easy equipment set-up (fast & efficient),
- Does not need water supply,
- Is not dependent on subgrade soil conductivity,
- Intimate contact between conductive medium and electrically isolative HDPE/LLDPE
geomembrane hence no problem with ‘wrinkles’ / odd edges,
- Convenient to carry out LIS on slopes / vertical walls,
- Easy to test for defects beneath double wedge fusion flap without the need to remove the
overlap,
- Can be tested after filling of aggregate drainage layer using soil ‘dipole method’,
- Suitable for testing of primary liner in a double lining system.

2. Solmax Premium Series
a. GM13 Standard specifies only minimum properties of geomembrane, not for specific project
requirements. Hence, Solmax provides geomembrane exceeds the GM 13 standard: Solmax
PREMIUMHD to offer advanced properties value especially in durability.
a. White colored geomembrane to reflect UV light radiation, instead of standard black colored
geomembrane.
b. Due to the light reflecting and heat reduction properties of Solmax Reflective ‘White’ liner, it
has 10 clear technical advantages over the standard black liner:
ii
- Reduce liner temperature
