Introduction:

Contemporary  arts  is  defined  as  the  art  of  the  “now”,  These  are  the  artworks  produced  in  the 
present.  It  is   difficult  to  define  the  actual  starting  point  of  the  contemporary  art  since  the present 
 is  in  constant   motion,   and   what   we   might   consider   as   contemporary   art   today   might   not b
e   true   in   the   future.

Reflects the wide spectrum of creative practices of artists currently working in the art gallery,
museum, public space, online and other multiple contexts of art making and exhibition.

Forms of Arts

1. Fine arts are the artworks we readily associate with art.

2. Decorative arts, also known as decorative crafts, are artworks that are both aesthetically pleasing and
functional.

3. Contemporary Art forms that could not be easily categorized between the fine arts and the decorative
arts, these belong to the branch of visual arts called contemporary art.

4. Performing arts when artists use their voices and/or their body movements to communicate artist
expression and are categorized into three types: music, dance, and theatre.

A. Music is a universal form of art. It is defined as the manipulation of sound and silence.

B. Dance is defined as regulated and deliberated order of the body movements and comes in many
forms and style .

C. Theatre or play is a branch of performing arts that often involves the integration and combination of
the visual and performing art.

Filipino artists play a role in presenting and educating the public about our history and identity.
Many artists are doing work, artist collectives are thriving, and the market is strong. The
discourse is higher. One of the aims of this program is to consolidate and harness the resources
of Philippine contemporary art.

 Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions  are produced by Filipino artists coming


from the different regions in the Philippines in the 21st century*. The works reflect cultural
diversity, technological advancement, and make use of a wide range of mediums.

Calligraphy- artistic, stylized, or elegant handwriting or lettering

Contemporary- marked by characteristics of the present period : modern,current

Crocheted- make (a garment or piece of fabric) using crochet

Earthenware- pottery made of clay fired to a porous state which can be made impervious to liquids by
the use of a glaze.

Glassware- ornaments and articles made from glass.

Graphic art- the fine and applied arts of representation, decoration, and writing or printing on flat
surfaces together with the techniques and crafts associated with them

Textile- fiber, filament, or yarn used in making cloth

Metal craft- the art of executing artistic designs in metal (as in repoussé work, chasing, inlaying)

Interior design- is the art and science of enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier and
more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space.
