Nevada Day.

This Thursday, 2:00 pm-2:30 pm, our staff will be standing out at the bus lanes in their
costumes for our families and students to drive through and see. Please drive through to wave
at your teachers for our “Staff Monster March.”

Election Day: Families of ALL CCSD students, there is no school on Tuesday, 11/3, due to elections. Both teachers
and students are off that day. DMC is an election site in our MP Room. *Due to school being closed this day, there
will be 2 breakfasts and lunches given out on TUESDAY from our food service.

Veteran’s Day: Families of ALL CCSD students, there is no school on Wednesday, 11/11, in observance of
Veteran’s Day. Thank you to all our Americans who served and are serving our country for our freedoms! True
Heros!
Cyber Cox Cub of the Week: Congratulations to the following students for being an awesome Cyber Cox Cub
Student last week in grades 1, 3, and 5: Kylee Gatesman, Nathan Bollard, Ryan LoBue, Ella Lease, Hunter Daidone,
Charlotte Williams, Dylan Crampton, Preston Michaelson, Jackson Carr-Malpass, Amelia Lee, and Dawson Stultz.
Parents can pick up their certificates in the front office until Friday. All certificates left over after the week will be placed in their teacher’s classroom
mailbox. We also have certificates at the packet pick-up times.

Milers: We have some updated mileage to celebrate for our Cox Cubs! Great job to the following students for putting
in their miles last week: Quinton Avery is up to 30 miles! Celina McCoy-Rasmus and Laya Vinay are up to 18 miles
(Laya doubled her distance in just one week)! Keep walking and jogging Cox Cubs!
Parents send me the names of your students and their miles completed so I can celebrate them in our newsletter!

Distance Learning Updates: Families, during our staff meeting, it was brought to our attention that teachers are
struggling to help students because they cannot “see” what the students are completing with their academic work.
Students don’t show their teachers (on their cameras) what their work looks like (holding up their work papers to the
cameras). Often a student will use their microphone to tell the teacher they don’t understand or got a problem wrong
but without showing the teacher their work, it is impossible for the teacher to assist the student and find out exactly
where the student is making the error and correct it. Please encourage your child to show their work to their teachers;
they can turn their cameras off once they’ve shown their work. Please help the teachers help your child.

PTA News (2nd posting): Parents, PTA is needing parent help for some of the positions which have become open
since the start of the school year. Please help our PTA, the following are the positions which they need help with:
Secretary, Communications (Facebook and Newsletter Monthly), Yearbook, and Garden. If you are interested in
helping with any of these positions please email our PTA President, Danielle Hall at halldr2@nv.ccsd.net

Parents, please donate your child’s books: Thank you to our families who donated books last week during work-
packet pickup, we have a wonderful supply going! Books can be dropped off during “work packet pick up” this
Friday or anytime in our book box at the front doors of the school. Please, only children’s books, no teen
reading/novels or adult.

Grading Reminder: Families, please remember that elementary school does not follow the middle and high school
grading calendar or quarter system. Elementary schools do not have quarter grades and at the semester end,
elementary grades do not zero out (like secondary schools). All grades are CONTINUOUS from one semester to the
next and continue to calculate from the previous semester.
