Installation manual

The EMOS camera settings are split over 4 confi-

guration screens: Connection, Stream, Media and
Video. Below is the explanation of the important
parts of each screen.

Network mode is either static IP or DHCP mode.

Camera IP is the own EMOS camera IP address.
This Address must be below 224.x.x.x .
Network mask must always end with a ‘0’. Valid
examples are ‘255.255.255.0’ or ‘255.255.192.0’.
The Camera Port is used for communication with
ISO-17215 (SOME/IP). See figure 13.
Figure 13
Stream mode is one of Continuous, Wait for
MAC, Wait for PTP, Wait for MAC and PTP or On
demand. In the Continuous mode the camera
starts streaming after power-on to Stream MAC,
Stream IP and Stream Port. This is usually the
receiving display system. See figure 14.

Stream protocol is either RTP or AVB ISO-1722.

Dynamic range is either Standard (SDR) or High
(HDR). The third option ‘Outdoor (HDR2)’ can be Figure 14
used only in the case when the controller is able
to send a Register-Set command over SOME/IP.
Spinner mode is Hidden or Visible, in the Visible
mode a spinner will be overlaid in the video
stream in the upper righthand corner of the
picture.
LED mode is not used.
Stream ID is an eight character text string that
will be sent in the ethernet stream. See figure 15.

Figure 15

Installation manual

ROI Index, a total of 12 ROIs are built-in which

control all video aspects of the camera. When a
ROI is selected and the camera is not controlled
(Continuous Stream mode) then the MARK AS
DEFAULT button must be tapped. This adds the
word ‘(default)’ to the ROI, see figure 17.
Compression is either H.264 or MJPEG.
Frame rate can be selected from 1 to 43 fps.
The Bit rate cannot exceed 50 Mbps. For the
full resolution of 1280x960, the video ‘quality’ is
controlled by this number. Below 30 Mbps you’ll
see deterioration of the image.
The Picture format is for resolutions 1280x960,
800x600 and 640x480 with all variations of Mir-
rored and Flipped.
The RESET CURRENT and RESET ALL buttons
Figure 16
revert the current field or all fields on this screen
to default values of the selected ROI. See figure 16.

When done with the EMOS configuration, unplug

the EMOS. When you return to the PhotonView Figure 17
main display screen, the settings will be overwrit-
ten !
So when you the screen in figure 18, use CANCEL
if you don’t want PhotonView to alter the EMOS
settings.

Figure 20
