1.General Characteristics
Moducab 19” floor standing cabinets are intended for digital infrastructures.
Moducab floor standing cabinets are made up of aluminium extruded frame structure and provide IP20-IK08 protection.
The Moducab floor standing cabinets comes in 2 range of colors, range 1- combination of RAL 7037 & 7035. range 2- fully
RAL 9005(customized).
Moducab floor standing cabinets can be joined together and can be equipped with the base plinth.
Equipment and accessories for thermal and cable management such as
Front door, Rear door, side panels, Plinths, Cable manager, Castor, Earthing strip,
Support Angle and the 19” equipment such as Monitor tray, Keyboard
tray, Fan housing tray, Blank panel, Power distribution unit. Complete
the range.
1.1 Presentation
The main parts of Moducab 19” floor standing cabinets are:
§ 2 aluminium alloy frameworks consisting of 4 vertical and 4 horizontal
sections bolted together with 4 depth sections to form a structure.
§ 1 Top Cover and 1Bottom Cover with gland plate and rubber grommets for
cable entry provisions.
§ 4 Recess mounting angles.
§ 2 pairs of support channel for up to 32U and 3 pairs of support channel
for above 32U height.
§ 2 pairs of Reducing cable channel.(only for 800W).
§ 8 Corner Brackets.
§ 2 Side panels fitted with slam latch and cam lock.

The basic structure of rack is made up of 4 vertical aluminum alloy extruded members bolted with 4 horizontal aluminum
alloy extruded members which forms 2 frame structures which are joined together by 4 depth sections with nut plates as
shown in Detail A.
The structure of the frame are strengthened by using a corner Bracket as shown in the Detail B which gives stability at
adverse loading Conditions.
The top and bottom cover comprises of gland plate with cable entry points in 56mm round cut out edge protected
with rubber grommets. The top cover also has cutout for 4 fan fitment.
Depth support channels are fitted along the depth to equate the load evenly and also used to fit the 19” equipment
mounting angle.
19” Equipment mounting angle facilitate in mounting the 19” equipment. The hole pattern on the equipment mounting angle is
according to the standard DIN 41494. It contains U printing pattern which can be read from down to up and vice versa.
Reducing cable channel is mounted all along the vertical usable height only for 800W Moducab racks which helps in routing all
cables vertically.
Reducing channels are fitted only for 800mm wide Moducab racks to maintain the 19” Equipment mounting fitment.

3. Technical Characteristics
3.1 Index of Protection
• IP 20 according to IEC 60529
• Protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm in diameter.
• IK08 according to IEC EN 62262
• Protected against mechanical impact with an energy of 5 Joules.
3.2 Mechanical performance

• Robust frame structure made of aluminum alloy + powder coated.
• Top cover made of CRCA sheet + powder coated.
• Top gland cover plate made of CRCA sheet + powder coated.

3.4 Corrosion Resistance

• Salt spray test according to ISO 9227 (NSS test) and IEC EN 60068-2-11 (Ka test) for 168 hours: degree of
Rusting Ri1 according to ISO 4628-3, propagation ≤1 mm according to ISO 4628-8.
3.5 Properties of the powder coating

Epoxy polyester paint applied by electrostatic dusting. Racks comes in two range of colors.
Range 1
• Frame Structure(aluminium extrusion profiles)- RAL 7037 fine texture
• Top Cover – RAL 7035 fine texture
• Bottom Cover- RAL 7035 fine texture
Range 2
• All components- RAL 9005 in black fine texture(customized)
They have following properties:
• Textured satin appearance.
• 60-80 micron thickness.
• Excellent impact and scratch resistance.
• Excellent resistance to cleaning agents(excluding strong chlorinated, fluorinated and ketone solvents)
• Some products may change the appearance. It is therefore advisable to carry out a test first.
3.6 Electrical Continuity of the conductive parts

• Copper plated earthing stud welded onto the main metal parts such as Top Cover, Doors, Side Panels.
• All the electrical components are also connected to the copper earthing studs.
3.7 UL Certification
• This is a UL approved product as per UL 2416.

• The Moducab Floor Standing cabinets can be joined together using baying kit of two colors -Item code: 1)CBM-DT-A , 2)CBM-BT-A.
•CBM-DT-A – for combination of RAL 7035&7037, CBM-BT-A- for fully RAL 9005(customized).
•The Baying kit consists of the coupling plate made up of CRCA sheet + powder coated.
•M6 hexagonal bolt is used to screw the coupling plate onto the nut plate which is inserted from the vertical section and the
horizontal section which will hold both the racks coupled together.
•There will be 4 coupling plates fixed vertically for up to 32 U and 6 coupling plates for above 32U height racks. 3 in front and 3 in rear
side. 4 coupling plates fixed horizontally, 2 on top and 2 on bottom.
The door opening angle remain same for the coupled cabinets

6. Door
• The 19” inch Moducab floor standing cabinets can be equipped with door which comes in three types viz. clear toughened glass,
honeycomb perforated or square mesh.
• In case of glass doors as shown in Fig , it comprises of one piece frame unlike trims at edges where in 4mm thick toughened tinted
glass is fixed.
• Perforated door has perforations for ventilation. The perforations are in the shape of honeycomb structure as shown in Fig.
• Meshed doors have square slot patterns as shown in Fig.
• The doors are made up of CRCA sheet + powder coating

7.Plinths
The Moducab 19” floor standing cabinets can be equipped with a 100mm high metal plinth which can be easily fitted
Onto the enclosure.
• Made up of CRCA sheet and powder coated.
• It also contains gland plates which are removable if required for cable entry provision.
The concrete floor on which the rack is going to be grouted is drilled first according to the provisions provided in
the base plinth. They are grouted using anchor fasteners.
The base plinth consist of four C-channels which are welded together as shown in the fig .

10.Earthing Strip
• Earthing bars made up of copper and provided for achieving electrical ground.
• All enclosures components such as doors, side walls, roofs should be bonded directly to the frame grounding points from the
frame to the external building ground should be concluded.
Characteristics:
• Earthing strips used in ProTek Floor Standing cabinets is of length 150mm as shown in the below drawing.

• The Moducab 19” Floor standing cabinets can be equipped with Power Distribution Units which can be mounted either
horizontally which is of 19” or vertically according to the requirement.
• The parameters for selecting the PDU are overall dimension, electrical rating, number of sockets required and the other
accessories which are required .viz. Plug and Cable.
• The range of Electrical Ratings for the Power Distribution Unit are as follows:
o Rated Voltage – 220 to 240 VAC, 50 Hz
o Full Load Current - 6 to 32Amp
o Full Load Power – 1.2 Kva to 6 Kva
