Part 1

1. Every recruitment process starts with GD. Can you give us some suggestions for that?

Now let’s go toward Basic questions of PI.

2. Tell me about yourself.

3. Good Evening Sir.

I would like to ask you two questions regarding PI.

Sir one of the common questions asked by interviewer is about strengths and weakness.
How are you planning to overcome your weakness? How to answer that question?

The interviewer doesn't expect you to be 100% sincere while answering this question.
The way in which you answer this question matters to them, because it help them
analyze the person you are.
Your strenghts should add value to your job, help you grow personally and
professionally. Some examples are- active listening, being proactive, ability to work in a
team as well as an individual contributor, helping others, good time management skills
etc etc. Organisations always try to find skills which benefit them and fits the culture of
that org.
Similarly, they always try to avoid missfits. Your weaknesses should not harm your work
or the environment of the organisation.
Some people try to answer this question in a smart way by projecting a strong point as
weakness. Like- I am a perfectionist. Due to this I spend more time on a task.

In my view most of the interviewers know this technique. So we should be honest in

telling our weakness. Always tell a weakness followed by action that you are taking to
overcome it. It gives very bad impression if you tell a weakness without an action plan.

But never tell a weakness that can raise the red flag for not hiring you.

Another common question asked by interviewer is out of candidates, why should a

company hire you? What should be the appropriate way to answer that question?
what exactly an HR manager wants to hear from you when he/ she asks this question?
He wants to know “How you are different (Unique) from the rest of the crowd” or “How
are you the best option for us among others who have applied for this post?”
To answer this question, you do not want to just list off all of the experience or
accomplishments that you have on your resume, the interviewer is already aware of
these. Instead, you should provide them with a real answer that tells them why they
should hire you. What do you have to offer to the company that makes you a better hire
than anyone else that they have interviewed?

4. Why do you want this job and how would you benefit the company?

5. Where do you see yourself in next five years? Specify your short term and long term
goals.

6. Key points to consider while making CV.

7. In this pandemic while companies are laying off their experienced employees. In this
situation where a fresher stands.

8. If person has low grade then how can he justify it?

9. Any further suggestion how one can improve his/her possibilities in getting through
selection procedure?

Every recruitment process starts with GD. Can you give us some suggestions for that?

 GD is held for mass reduction in selection process. In GD, apart from knowledge, you
are evaluated on the basis of your communication and group skills.
 Your ability to speak more will not help you; you have to be a good listener too.
 If you don’t have any idea about the topic given then listen others carefully for a
while and present the same what you have listen but in a different way by
rephrasing. Because it is not only about what you speak but also about how you
speak.
 Speak confidently. If you don’t have confident, just fake it.
 Initiation of GD will give you a benefit. But initiate the discussion if you know the
subject well.
 Don’t over speak, intervene and snatch other’s chance to speak.
 Give others a chance to speak. Don’t try to dominate the discussion.
 If you get counter arguments, take it gracefully.
 If you disagree with someone, let them know politely. Don’t be aggressive about it.
Agree with what is right.

For GD preparation cultivate a habit of reading a newspaper and developing your views
and opinions on important topic because GDs are not about just giving information, but
also about your views on the given topic.

Tell me about yourself.

It’s often the first question to be asked in an interview, so it’s your big chance to make a first
impression. By asking this question interviewer wants to know whether your qualification,
experience and attitude is fit for the job position or not. So your answer should include your
qualification, experience, skills etc. and not your personal information. Your first sentence
should be an introduction to who you are professionally, an overview statement that shows
off your strengths and gives a little sense of your personality too. This is not easy to do
gracefully on the fly. It pays to prepare a bit in advance.
