“BAGONG BUHAY, BAGONG BAHAY: FOR THE VICTIMS OF DEMOLITION”

What would happen if they can’t have a house immediately? Would they be safe if they will sleep in the
street temporarily? For us, they’ll be in a real struggle because based on what we observed while visiting them. They
are lacking of things to prevent them in danger like they don’t have any roof to protect them from the heat of the sun
and from the rain. Their stuffs were everywhere and they are all struggling with their situation. This problem is the
same as what the victims in demolition before in Lahug, Cebu City Which the property is owned by the University of
the Philippines. People got angry because they are not informed about the demolition and they didn’t received any
relocation site. At least in this situation with the people we’re going to help is they will have a relocation site but only
the lot is given and they still need money to build a house. Because of what happened they lost their home and that
may result to people to not have a shelter due to lacking of money.

As we noticed people who are victim in this demolition is not safe right now and they have nothing to protect
themselves from the calamities that may occur. And also they don’t have enough money to build their houses as
soon as possible. In visiting them and observing their situation they are struggling on finding enough money to start
building their houses. As we asked the victims, majority of them said that their main problem is their financial needs
in building their houses. We know that people has their own initiative that if they don’t have houses to live in they’ll
find a way or go to their relatives. But as we all know that not all of the victims has a relatives near in that place and
they don’t have enough money to use in travelling so far.

As an architect we have a proposal to you, as our boss, to help us financially in helping the victims to build
their houses. Just a simple house that can help them to protect theirselves away from danger, a house that is similar
to a “bahay-kubo”. We should build them a house in order to make them comfortable and safe. We encourage you to
approve our proposal “BAGONG BUHAY, BAGONG BAHAY: FOR THE VICTIMS OF DEMOLITION” and help us
financially for the materials that we will be using in building their home. We chose this solution in order for them to
have a safe and comfortable house to live in. Approving this proposal is the best way for us to help these less
fortunate people and to keep them away from miserable life. Because we believe that “Helping one person might not
change the world, but it could change the world of that person.”
