The IAM negotiated much higher pay rates
for Continental Flight Attendants than United Flight Attendants have.
A Top of Scale IAM Flight Attendant earns
$12.78 an hour, $1,086.30 a month and $13,035.60 a year more than a
United Flight Attendant.*
A 10-year IAM Flight Attendant earns
$4.83 an hour, $410.55 a month and $4,926.60 a year more than a
United Flight Attendant.*
A 5-year IAM Flight Attendant earns
$5.06 an hour, $430.10 a month and $5,161.20 a year more than a
United Flight Attendant.*

From March 1, 2002 – December 31, 2010, an


IAM Flight Attendant earned $80,512 more
than a United Flight Attendant**

*Based on the tentative agreement rate effective 9/1/2011 and a Flight Attendant flying 85 hours per month at domestic
hourly rates, including 10 hours of pay at incentive rates. Incentive pay is earned by Continental Flight Attendants at a rate of
an additional $5.00 per hour for all hours flown between 75 and 110, calculated on a quarterly basis.
