Nss camp
NSS CAMP Day 1 – August 29, 2019

On the event of National Sports Day, an organization of sports activities was


conducted in the New Koba Primary and Secondary School. The children were
made to play Relay Race, Dodgeball and Kho Kho. There were around 55
volunteers who participated in conducting the events.

NSS CAMP Day 2 – August 30, 2019

On the second day of the camp, a lecture on Disaster Management Awareness


was conducted in the New Koba Primary and Secondary School where a team
of National Disaster Response Force was called and students were made aware
about various natural calamities, the precautions to be taken in case of disaster
like Flood or Fire striking without a warning, the method to treat snakebites as
well as CPR techniques and basic first aid.

After the awareness lecture, the Volunteers conducted a drive in the New Koba
Village about the Jal Shakti Abhiyaan and distributed pamphlets as well as
talked with the villagers and made them aware about the water wastage and
methods to conserve water.
NSS CAMP Day 3 – August 31, 2019

On the third day of the camp, a lecture on Legal Awareness was conducted in
the New Koba Primary and Secondary School where the students were made
aware about their fundamental rights and duties and given some basic
knowledge of consent.

After the awareness lecture, the Volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive in a


school in the New Koba Village where the volunteers met the Sarpanch of the
village Mr. Yogeshbhai Nayi who gave them the knowledge of the history of
ayurveda, gave an insight into the working of Panchayat System as well as
showed the implementation of digital classroom initiative in the school.
NSS CAMP Day 4 – September 1, 2019

On the fourth day of the camp, the volunteers conducted a rally for removal of
plastic and in furtherance to that, conducted a cleanliness drive in the New Koba
Village where the volunteers cleaned the roads as well as collected all the dry
waste and ensured its proper disposal.

NSS CAMP Day 5 – September 2, 2019

On the fifth day of the camp, the volunteers conducted a plantation drive in the
New Koba Primary and Secondary School along with Sarpanch Shri
Yogeshbhai Nayi where the volunteers planted close to 50 trees.

In the evening, a cultural event was organized in Koba on the occasion of


Ganesh Chaturthi.
NSS CAMP Day 6 – September 3, 2019

On the sixth day of the camp, the volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive in the
New Koba Higher Secondary School. After the cleanliness drive, a legal
awareness drive was organized in Koba village where the students conversed
with the villagers and made them aware about their property rights, transfer of
property and woman and child helpline numbers.

NSS CAMP Day 7 – September 4, 2019

On the concluding day of the camp, the volunteers conducted a blood donation
camp in the New Koba Higher Secondary School in collaboration with
Shraddhadeep Laboratories where the volunteers donated blood. GNLU
Students other than the volunteers also helped in this noble cause.

A blood donation in partnership with GNLU Centre for Law and Society
(GCLS) was conducted on 5th September, 2018.

SWACHHTA PAKHWADA

Mega cleaning drives were conducted on the 3rd August, 2019 and 4th August,
2019 under the banner of Swachhta Pakhwada.

ADOPTION OF ADALAJ STEPWELL AND KOBA VILLAGE

GNLU has adopted Adalaj Stepwell and Koba Village since the last 3 years. We
have conducted regular cleaning drives; painting drives and plantation drives in
these two places. We have painted the railings, public washrooms etc. multiple
times. A mega cleaning cum painting cum plantation drive was conducted on 4 th
April, 2019 in Adalaj Stepwell and on 5th April, 2019 in Koba Village. A major
highlight in the course of these 3 years has been that we have painted the public
toilets in Adalaj and Koba almost 10 to 12 times in the course of these 3 years.
