COMMUNICATION PLAN DOCUMENT TEMPLATE

Introduction

The template is designed to prompt the Project Manager and help in the creation of
the Communication Plan Document. The information for the Communication Plan
Document is extracted from the Start Up and Initiating a Project Processes which are
part of the PRINCE2 Method of Project Management which we will be looking at in
more detail in the IPPM Theme sessions in early 2007.

When the template is complete, the complete Communication Plan Document


should be used in the Stage 1 - Group Presentation of the Assignment. Prior to
printing, or copying for use in your presentation, you should delete all [....] prompt
text.

The Communication Plan Document will reflect the information contained in the
Project Approach, integrated within the Project Plan.

Once your Communication Plan Document is completed check the document


against the following Quality Criteria:

 Have all the listed derivation sources been checked?

 Have all stakeholders been identified and their communication requirements


defined?

 Is there agreement from all interested parties about the content, frequency
and method?

 Has a common standard been considered?

 Has time to carry out the identified communications been allowed for in Stage
Plans?
