Hemisphere: A half of the earth, usually as divided into northern and southern halves by the equator, or

into western and eastern halves by an imaginary line passing through the poles.

Latitude: The angular distance of a place north or south of the earth's equator, or of a celestial object
north or south of the celestial equator, usually expressed in degrees and minutes.

Longitude: The angular distance of a place east or west of the meridian at Greenwich, England, or west of
the standard meridian of a celestial object, usually expressed in degrees and minutes.

Projection: An estimate or forecast of a future situation or trend based on a study of present ones.

Physical map: Physical map or otherwise called as relief maps are the one that shows the natural
characteristics of a form of land and bodies of water that are found in a area. In finer terms, it is a visual
representation of how our earth looks from space.

Political map: Political maps are designed to show governmental boundaries of countries, states, and
counties, the location of major cities, and they usually include significant bodies of water.

Special purpose map: A special purpose map is a map that has more specific information other than a
single topic. Specific maps will frequently have climate regions, soil, waterways and other things that
you will not find on typical maps.

Scale: one of the traditional symbols of justice, as wielded by statues of Lady Justice. This corresponds
to the use in metaphor of matters being "held in the balance".

Cardinal Directions: Cardinal direction The four cardinal directions or cardinal points are the directions
of north, east, south, and west, commonly denoted by their initials: N, E, S, W.

Choropleth: A type of thematic map in which areas are shaded or patterned in proportion to a statistical
variable that represents an aggregate summary of a geographic characteristic within each area, such as
population density or per-capita income.

Migration: Movement of people to a new area or country in order to find work or better living
conditions.
Culture: The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.
