Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela was born on the 18th July 1918 in the village of Mvezo, in an area of
South Africa called Transkei. Nelson studied hard at school and later attended
the University of Fort Hare, the South African Native College. He then moved to the city
of Johannesburg to study law at the University of the Witwatersrand, before qualifying
as a lawyer in 1942, aged 24.  Nelson Mandela died on December 5, 2013 after 6
critical months of lung problems.

He defended the right of black people for 67 years because he fought for racial equality
and the end of the apartheid segregation regime but he went to jail for 27 years.

He wanted the right of black people and he was famous since 1960 in Sudafrica but
then he has been famous in the world for his actions.
