PATTERN NOTES
The amounts of yarn are rather small and will vary according to the yarn you choose and how loosely or tightly you crochet.
This project is worked in a continuous spiral, not in joined rounds. To keep track of the rounds you may mark the beginning of
a round with a st marker or a safety pin. Move your st marker at the beginning of each round. At the end of each line you
will nd the number of sts you should have in brackets.

BEGIN

HEAD
Start in black yarn.
Rnd 1. start 6 sc in a magic ring [6].
Rnd 2. inc in all 6 sts [12].
Rnd 3. (sc in next st, inc in next st) rep 6 times [18].
Rnd 4-5. sc in all 18 sts [18].
Change to o -white yarn.
Rnd 6. sc in all 18 st [18].
Rnd 7. (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) rep 6 times [24].
Rnd 8. sc in all 24 sts [24].
Rnd 9. sc in next 6 sts, (inc in next st, sc in next st) rep 6 times, sc in next 6 sts [30].
Change to mink brown yarn.
Rnd 10. sc in all 30 sts [30].
Rnd 11. sc in next 7 sts, (inc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) rep 6 times, sc in next 5 sts [36].

Insert the safety eyes between rounds 17 and 18, with about an interspace of 24 sts. Embroider short o -white lines on top of
the deer’s head. Embroider two cheeks with pastel pink yarn.

Rnd 26. sc in all 42 sts [42].
Rnd 27. (sc in next 5 sts, dec) rep 6 times [36].

Stu the head rmly with ber ll.

Fasten o leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining st and
pull tight to close. Weave in the yarn end.

In mink brown yarn.

Fasten o , leaving a long tail. Flatten the tail before sewing. Does not need to be stu ed.

DRESS
In mustard yellow.
Ch 27. Crochet in rows.
Row 1. start in second ch from hook, sc in next 26 sts, ch 1, turn [26].
Row 2. sc in next 4 st, ch 5, skip next 5 sts, (sc in next st, inc in next st) rep 4 times, ch 5, skip next 5 sts, sc in next 4 st, ch 1,
turn [30].
Row 3. sc in all 30 st [30].
Row 4. (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) rep 6 times, ch 1, turn [36].
Row 5. sc in all 36 sts [36].
Row 6. (sc in next 8 st, inc in next st) rep 4 times, ch 1, turn [40].

Rnd 10. Making sure your row is not twisted, insert the hook in the rst sc st of the previous row and crochet a sc to close the

Sew the head to the body. Sew the arms on both sides of the body between rounds 2 and 3. Sew the legs on both sides of the
body between rounds 23 and 25. Sew the horns and the ears onto the head.
