Double-sided Purim Mask!

On Purim it is traditional to wear masks and costumes and celebrate with

parties and carnivals. For this artwork the artist put together objects that
could be used during Purim. The Purim kit includes a two-sided mask that
has the face of Queen Esther on one side and the face of King Ahashuerus
on the other.

Materials you will need:

Wooden dowel, pencil or stick
Tape
Markers or crayons
Optional: colored paper, printed papers, ribbon,
buttons, or other small objects.
 Making Your Double-sided Purim Mask
Follow these steps!
1. Print out these pages to get started.

2. Put pages 3 and 4 back-to-back. Make sure

the pages line up. Now glue these pages together
back-to-back.
3. Cut out the mask shape on the solid line.

4. Like the Purim mask created by Robinson, your mask will have a
different character on each side. You may want to make a mask with
Queen Esther on one side and King Ahasuerus on the other, or you may
want to choose another character from the Book of Esther, such as
Mordechai, Haman, or Vashti. Think about details you might include
when drawing each character. Here are some ideas to help you when
creating your mask.

5. Now add details to your mask with markers, crayons, and any other
materials you’d like, such as paper, ribbons, or buttons. Remember to
leave the side strip blank since it will be attached to your wooden dowel.

6. Once you have finished decorating both sides of

your mask, roll the blank side around your dowel,
pencil, or stick. Then tape this rolled part so it
remains rolled around the dowel.

Your mask is finished! Now you can disguise yourself as two

different characters for the holiday.
